I was stationed in W. Germany from 1970 to 1973 and worked with guy who owned a Nikon SLR. He owned the film drive and 200 shot magazine. He came up with a suggestion for the motor drive and wrote a letter to Nikon. He forgot the letter. Mid 1973 he gets a letter from Nikon with first class airline tickets. He gets leave to go and when he arrived he received a greeting like royalty. Nikon adopted his suggestion and made a tour of company. At the end he was presented a brand new " kit ". A motor drive, slr. That really impressed me about Nikon. The man would go out with a 250 roll of film. Out of the entire roll he might get one keeper.

1 in 250 is good going. I must be 1 in 3000. I only press the shutter on a film camera now to collect images I want. I shoot film very differently because of the cost.

@@chriscaarnold Wow...I hope you're meaning digital. My friend shot film. Did his own processing etc.

I have the M-A and it is a beautifully engineered instrument and very quiet. I can see that the S3 is a wonderful retro design and probably really good fun to own and shoot. It’s visually stunning as well, but no parallax correction? I would find that difficult to reconcile.

I just bought this camera! I've only run through a few rolls but its been a ton of fun to shoot.

Such a beautiful camera. I want one of the models but to shoot not to collect. Just not sure if rangefinder focusing is my thing.

The best ever is the f2. No parallax correction is a big no no for me . F,f2, and f3 have accurate framing, focusing, and 100% viewfinders

I love my late father’s F2, what a brilliantly indestructible, awesome camera🙏🏼

@@pancakelens75 I agree. I’ve used mine for years and it has survived some wars

Hey @JapanVintageCamera, thanks for the three detailed videos on the SP 2005 and the S3 Millenium, those were a treat and source of great info! I just wish -when you get a chance- that you can film a close-up through the viewfinder on both cameras, especially that of the SP 2005, since it’s supposed to be one of the best ever with focus-distance compensating frame lines, 1.0x life size and perhaps even auto frame-size adjusting as the Konica IIIA if what I’ve read is true. I also imagine the 2005 version should be the best one of the Nikon rangefinders possibly due to the use of modern coatings on the viewfinder window like a modern Leica…? Thanks in advance and keep the reviews coming! 😅🙏🏻🎞️📷👌🏻

After working in manufacturing for years I can appreciate the trouble is must have been to remake these. And supply a warranty.

I'd say the best Nikon ever was F2., by swiching the viewfinders, it can propeely handle from Non-Ai all the way up to D type lenses.

So, what’s the ‘first’ Nikon best camera?
@garelalexandre32528 ай бұрын
so S3 or Sp ???
@japanvintagecamera88698 ай бұрын
If you plan to shoot with it, get the S3, if you are a collector, get the SP.

No. You apologised for mispronouncing Leica due to living in Japan, you'd think you would pay the same respect to Nikon... And it's letters together Leica is I... Our should we say nayzie instead of nazi?

Leica is a pussy's camera. The shittiest photos I ever see come from Leica.
