Unboxing our First Dollfie Dream Doll (Ribbon plus Mochi Ashi Body)

Re-uploaded to fix video issues. We're so excited for this unboxing. It's our first ever Volks Dollfie Dream! Sandee has been looking for a "sister" doll to compliment our collection of Smart Dolls and finally settled on Ribbon, a Dollfie Dream Pretty doll. But, in order to really maximize the cuteness, she will be transfering her head on to a Mini Dollfie Dream Mochi Ashi body. The short chubby legs are just too cute to pass up. We also got a blank head that we'll put on Ribbon's original body.
Of course as Smart Doll collectors we'll be doing some comparison between the dolls we're used to working with and these very similar dolls. We'll do a more in depth comparison in the future.

I have a mochi ashi body for my custom smart doll head and they make perfect little siblings for Smarties! Big tip: obitsu 50cm shoes fit the mochi ashi body perfectly~ (And they're also cheaper than a lot of other doll shoes)

Thanks for the tip! I had the hardest time even finding out how big the foot was, so I ended up ordering a couple of pairs of shoes from Volks. (Especially since the decent Etsy shoes take forever to show up)

Ribbon is adorable. I have three DD( one MDD and two DD size), I really like the texture or the vinyl and the way they sculpt the faces. My MDD has a deep smile that’s very cute. Can’t wait to subscribe to your videos, enjoy your new dolls.^^

I bought a sweet Ribbon me too just a couple of weeks ago and I love her! The open sculpted mouth is so cute! I kept the original pretty body because I prefer the delicate appearance as a lolita xD but the mochi is also cute! I found only one flaw that bothers me: the soft joints despite being new..the head wobbles a bit and I struggle to maintain the pose .. but i read that it is a flaw of this type of body. As a quality I prefer smartdolls..but as anime and kawaii characters the dollfie are aesthetically very beautiful!

I had heard this about the DDP body as well. I understand what you say about the Lolita look. I’m planning to do that with a Smart Doll. I really want Ranko Kanzaki from Cinderella Girls but I am not quite in love with the DD version.

The smell doesn’t bother me. John is very sensitive to fragrance. The smell of the Dollfie Dream vinyl IS way stronger than the SmD vinyl.

Love them. I think your "pretty" dollfie reminds me of an artistic, very detached teen. Into her books, journals, hobbies and theatre. A Beatrix Potter or Emily Dickensen type girl

The wig I have on her now is a SmD wig, but it’s a bit loose on my Smart Dolls so they rarely wear it. I like it but I think it may be a little too much hair. I’m still hunting for the perfect one.

Volks vinyl doesn’t smell like the Smart Doll vinyl, it’s quite a big difference actually. I definitely love the new vinyl smell of Smart Dolls.

Yes I agree. The DD smell is much stronger. IMO. I don’t hate either smell. John is fragrance sensitive. (He has to pick my perfume even)

The regular Dollfie dream or Dollfie Dream Dynamite are closer to SmD size. We may get one eventually. If one comes along that we think we need. I just really wanted a cute little girl doll 😊

Is nice to see you getting into Dollfie Dreams as well! I'm in the hobby for years and I love them so much! A small advice: Check if the head is really on her Body. Your footage looks like its not properly on. Heads shouldn't wobble around like that, especially on the newer Bodys. (I'm not owning a DDP Body, so not sure... But usually it shouldn't be this way >///

Karen is cute. If I had to pick a standard doll from their line for my next, I would probably pick Towa. If I get another it will probably be through a proxy so I can get what I want.

@@MyLadyDisdain sewing for MDD mochi ashi is super fun because they can fit MSD tops and slimmer SD bottoms or msd skirts. They also CAN fit MDD bottoms if they are elastic! 🥰 Happy sewing!! (And happy buying! Lol)

We have a lot of the larger Volks limited character dolls but none of the smaller ones (brother has saber and hatsune mikus etc). Mind if I steal your idea on the body swap? I spoke to her about whether the minifee stuff would fit. She wasn’t sure. I suspect from what I have seen that the tops would fit but the leggings would be a struggle.

i honestly don't think the pocket doll will work well as a lil sis. They are just scaled down which doesn't make it believa le. These Volks options on the other hand are perfect. such chubby legs 😍😍😍 ?Are volks eyes cemented in? I thoughi read somewhere that they are because they consider it the soul.

I haven’t looked at Mei’s eyes but I know you can change them. Not sure what they use to hold them in. They do have a device called the Dream Fitter that is like the SmD eye cradle except you can use a tool from the outside to reposition the eyes for photos.

They usually hot glue the eyes in, so it may be a bit of a struggle to change them.

Ok, you said the pretty body is 50cm-what size is the even shorter chubby 1? Personally, I got tired of waiting around for the pocket doll; so I got a smart doll head, put on a 1/6 bjd strung body & made my own. Actually worked out pretty good.😐

i have two dd, one is their standard model (aka normal character) Mirai but casually customised into Hatsune Miku so still default faceup but wig, clothes etc to look like Miku the other is my own mochi-ashi mdd that I did the faceup for and she's just a very cute pastel demon who's named Mochi (it stuck okay?) and they are so cute together i love them

DD flesh is really almost exact, like with some adjustments to the neck peg/hole you could put an SmD milk head on a Dd flesh body

@@AnimalLover101195 I don’t. I can say that Smart Doll usually fits SD13. Regular SD is larger. People have made body comparison charts. If you google Smart Doll measurements they have a lineup with some of the Dollfie Dream dolls
