Thank you for tuning in guys! With all this babbling about the packaging, I forgot to express my verdict about this new direction. Aesthetically I still prefer the old packaging with the plastic bubble. I’m sure many TVC in-box collectors would agree. But if this is able to decrease the burden on the environment, well why not. I am not surprised if Hasbro will first analyze how well these are received (since the only ones with this packaging are considered “deluxe” figures), and if they don’t loose too much sales they will then roll out for regular releases. It’ll be bad for PR if they announced it for an environmental cause and then recon the decision. Anyways, feel free to express your opinion below. 👍

I live in America and preordered mine through gamestop along with fennec and corvus ahsoka. They still haven't arrived. Should I consider canceling and ordering somewhere else? I'm new to collecting and would like to know where and how I should get new TVC figures. I hear Dengar is supposed to be coming at some point and I don't want to miss him.

Thank you! I know TVC collectors care a lot about the packaging, so I tried to be as thorough as possible, especially since this is a new packaging and all. Amazing how different scale of the same toy would require one to see it from a completely different eye.

First in the world to show us amazing new toys. I think I will get two of them. One to leave in box. I like the new boxes a lot. It reminds me of toys back in the days. These new packagings are progressive and old school at the same time.

Yes. I think it’s amazing how toys are like music, or sense of smell. They are pieces of plastic, but also the key to unlocking memories. Vintage packaging really helps to unlock these as well.

Im sorry but i dont see any reason to get a second one of this carded. You can't see the figure in the card. You may aswel just hang up the empty packaging and youll get the same effect? Right? Or am i missing something

Yes-it’s just marketing story. In the end it’s probably extra cost savings. I think the plastic but really makes a difference in the black series packaging, but not much for TVC. I hope they just roll the cardboard packaging for the Black series, but have TVC remain the same.

It really isn't about environment. It's just cheaper. People don't shop physically as much anymore and reason for bubbles was for them to see the products in person as they were making a decision to make a purchase. I dare to say that majority of sales are online which makes bubbles somewhat obsolete at this point. Environmental concerns is just a buzzword for PR.

I have this pre-ordered, so thanks for the in-depth look! I’m not traditionally an action figure collector, but I do collect Boba Fett stuff that I like. I’m also not a carded/sealed collector, so the windowless aspect doesn’t bug me at all. In fact, I like it more given I can open the packaging, get the figure out, and still display the packaging since I don’t have to rip open a blister window. I’m a big fan of the box art, too!

Agreed! TVC has come a long way. Interesting comment about the bigger version comment- as awesome as the ARC Trooper Echo figure was, it was almost like a blown up version of the one from the TVC ARC 3-pack

The black series one is actually not this new outfit. This is directly based out of his look in book of boba fett. Black pants with the brown boots. Where the TBS version is based out of his mandalorian season 2 look.

@@guard961 True the deluxe version is the throne room Boba at the end of Mandalorian season 2. Still the face sculpt is disappointing, as are plastic pants. There's no cloth. I'm probably gonna buy this vintage figure but I'm really hoping there's a black/series for the Book of Boba Fett variation with, better head sculpt, cloth back skirt and the gaffe stick.

Def have given us a boba fett overload between black series an vintage. If u like him or mandolorain, boy it’s grt time to collect. So many versions. Unfortunately it seems like u may have a QC issue with ur jet pack an flame not fitting tight. The copy I got they fit tight p,Or I just got very lucky by me having a QC issue from their reg stuff an mine fit when most don’t. The thing I worry about my flames an jet pack is the do fit so well an tight I have to warm em up little to get them apart again. They are so tight it makes u feel like y will rip the nozzle rt off the jet pack.,

The new leg joints have me sold for the Vintage Collection. Before I avoided them because of the weird leg articulation. I almost didn't get the ROTJ Boba Fett. This one is an easy purchase for me.

Yeah stormtrooper helmet strikes me the same as the Rancor skulls. I guess for those who wanted to can swap heads with regular TVC stormtroopers. But yeah flame effects more relevant. (Albeit the jetpack flames don’t fit well).

It feels like TVC is constantly evolving while the BS is staggering. Not even the SH Boba looks as good as this IMO, and that’s saying a lot.

Yeah these figures are getting more and more detailed. Imagine the original 12” gi-joes from the 60’s spoke about 21 points of articulation- and now we have pretty much that in 3.75”! Btw, if you like this figure, the likeness on the Mandalorian Ahsoka figure for TVC is mind boggling!!! The likeness to Rosario Dawson is amazing.

We already so called deluxe figures on a cardback with bubble. They easily could have fit this Boba Fett on a cardback and bubble. I don't like it in the Bic I want to be able to see the figure on a bubble and cardback to display. I always open one as well but I like to display one in pack and not in a box were you can't see figure. The whole thing about collecting in packaging is the TVC cardback and nostalgia of original kenner figures coming like that. If they stop the bubble and cardback and only have them in a box I will stop collecting the TVC line.

While I don’t focus on TVC, I totally understand your pain. It’s definitely a situation where don’t fix it if it’s not broken. I’m pretty sure Black Series is heading that direction since this line doesn’t emphasize the packaging much. Let’s hope Hasbro has the sense to keep the TVC packaging as it is. 🤞

If they make a flight stand (which would be cool), it will surely exacerbate the fact that the flame effects for the jetpack doesn’t fit. Great figure, but that flame effect is real disappointing.

Figure itself is great, but I agree this shouldn’t be a deluxe, because the ST helmet is not necessary and the flame effect is not workable. I think the ST helmet is actually for people who wants to swap them w TVC ST figures to reenact the scene where boba Fett kick their ass in Tython (albeit this figure is the tatooine version). But again, it is not necessary. Here’s my theory- Hasbro wants to test out the new packaging. For black series they are set on that direction, but TVC is particularly sensitive subject. They want to test it out without committing to the regular figures. After all, if their reason is announced as “for the environment,” it will look real bad if they go back to bubble once they deployed the new packaging. So they have to think up a gimmick for “deluxe” figures to justify a different packaging- hence this, rhe flame trooper grogu, and Ahsoka w robe and grogu.

I really dislike this type of packaging. Quality control on painting and sculpting of these figures isn't always a sure thing and I always make sure to ask for additional pictures on the painting and sculpting of the figure I'm about to buy. Only that in this case, asking for the seller to do it equates to him opening the box...

I really don't like this figure now that I got it. It's very flimsy, difficult to stand, can't hold the rifle with extremely bendy and soft plastic used for both weapon and hands, pistol doesn't fit into holster and mine came with torn tubes. :l Hasbro dropping the ball here big time. It looks great from afar but quality-wise it leaves a lot to wish for. Pricing is completely unjustified as we kept getting just as many accessories with basic figures ten years ago. Also all-paper packaging should make the price cheaper!

Yes I see that now! I’m kinda veering off topic, but it’s interesting how GI Joes are the granddaddy of action figures when they are 12” Barbie dolls for boys (hence the term action figures are invented). Then when their success waned they shrunk to 8” to imitate Mego, the hot toys in the 70s. And then with OG Star Wars toys success they decided to go into 3:75” with the 80s joes. I guess it comes full circle when Star Wars toys begin to imitate the same 80s Joe figures that they inspired. Amazing

Same, but its also a overal design thing for me. The bobf design really needs some green below the belt to pull the entire design together. They should have either given him his crotch plate back or given him some thigh plates like jango.. just something green over there.
