Actually it did, starting in 1996. Although it was a different system, with only the turns being displaying on the instrument cluster. Source: I have a '97, in this exact colour combination (green with tan interior), which is why I absolutely had to get this 1/18 model :)

There was an S8 like this around my block when I was a teenager...it was such a great car that we avoided playing football near it (we didn't do the same around other cars :)) ) I am not picky when it comes to resin vs die-cast models, as I care more of the quality of the model and less of the mobile parts..an this Otto looks like a quality model car more..and I love that dark green

Very nice model. Such a shame that I don't have more space for it. If it was black and diecast, I would still consider it. I like the headlights too :)

I've been considering an Ottomobile for a while, but I always shy away from buying one due to the lack of openings. The interior details on this model are starting making me reconsider. Thank you for explaining their ordering system as well; that information will defiantly be useful if I do decide to pick one up.

I have the Otto Mobile's black S8 from 2012 (and the real thing with exactly the same spec from 2000), and I think the only updates compared against the 2012 black diecast, are the colors interior/exterior. The model I would say it's the same inch by inch. Great video!

Great video! You’ve beat me to it 😁 I’ve already posted the Focus RS and the Honda from the same preorder month, and i left the S8 last. Great job explaining the ordering system. You’ll get used. I actually like it. And some models are sold out in a couple of days and the prices goes crazy (the beste example is Focus RS, the sell on eBay now with over 130 euros). Even in your video you can see that the Patrol is sold out. The price on that one will go trough the roof as well.

haha yup and that rally subaru impreza with that iconic livery as well. they'll probably be 130 and more when they hit ebay. as for the s8, i think otto first released it in black something like 9 years ago back in 2012. there's an old youtube video from 2012 so it's nice that they re-release a model in new colors years later so a new generation of collectors won't miss out because the market prices on some old, sold out ottos are just crazy 😁

@@ImperialDiecast Totally agree. I was really sad when I’ve seen the prices for M5 E39, then Otto announced that they will release it in silver. I bought two 🤣

@@ImperialDiecast I’ve only started buying Otto for a bit more than a year, but since them i preorder some every month

Yes, you can release wheels to spin. I have the same model in my collection from 2015 in black color, but my wheels could spin. I'm surprised that yours are not spinning, because I have 7 models from Otto, and all of them has spinning wheels. I have also 2 GT Spirit models with non spinning wheels, but I released them to spin freely. I've done video about customizing this model. You can watch it if you like on my channel. And I must say it's still one of my favorite model in my collection.

Very nice video highlighting the details, looks really clean! I just bought my first Otto as well but it's an older 2014 release of the Mercedes W124 E60 AMG, price has gone up to $150 even the AMG Hammer wagons cost $190, but I can tell you that being a resin model the paint finish is still really smooth and shiny after 7 years! diecast metal car paints often rash and get dull after a few years (especially coming from the tropics of Asia) so I'm very satisfied with this resin model despite not having any opening parts. Are you planning to perhaps get more resin models in the future?
@ImperialDiecast3 жыл бұрын
probably not from otto (unless they release something really cool) due to the long waiting process for fair prices, but i do have some BoS resin models in my collection I am planning to review next year. That brand seems to have gone defunct, there are barely any new releases on the modelcarworld home site.

@@ImperialDiecast I see, yeah that's a long wait compared to the readily available diecast that you can just buy. I am personally keen on their Mercedes lineup since some variants are just not made in other brands as far as I know. And the resilience of paint finish on resin compared to diecast is a plus on my book. Maybe, I mean finding BoS model is pretty hard these days where I am, but I'm looking forward to see you review them!
