An awesome new addition! I need to add to my collection one of these models. I will admit I am liking the network south east livery and it looks perfect on the layout in night operation! Lighting is nice as well. Great video and review. Clint

It certain does look a beautiful unit, no doubt, one or two extra features. I bought the dapol one about 6 weeks ago and runs beautifully too. Yes 1or 2 minor issues that I was prewarned about particularly by Richard at Ev Jcn but I dealt with them. Thank you for showing the comparison, it is certainly good to see the differences, however slight.

Thankyou yes , there both super models and definitely a place in the market for both . I still like my 3 Dapol ones and the new one , think there smashing little units. There TBH isn’t much different , except some issue the Dapol one had are fixed with Bachmann . Glad you liked the video , thanks for tuning in 👍

It’s wonderful to have people putting up their videos from their layouts. I’m currently awaiting a move of home, but this will happen reasonably soon. My layout will be depicting Ongar Station as I work on the Epping Ongar Railway and my layout will be promoting it. One of our DMUs is a two car Class 117, in BR green with speed whiskers. I shall be getting the Bachmann model of this train. I’m going to replace the running numbers so that they match the prototype. I was wondering if you have already visited my beloved railway. If not, it’s London’s local heritage railway, running on old Tube lines from Epping Forest - at which there is no station yet, through to Ongar Station. Our two stations are North Weald and Ongar. There used to be one in between the two called Blake Hall, which is now the owner’s home. Good luck and keep the good work.

What were you doing last week? Are you on the Track and other major parts Section? I’m either a Station Porter or Train Janitor. I started at the Railway at the beginning of the main heritage railway season, Easter 2013!! It was the best’13’ in my life!!

Looks very impressive Nathan - I have the Dapol NSE and BR Blue/Grey versions ,but I do like the realistic Acceleration/ deceleration built in similar to DCC Concepts Zen decoders where you can choose the profile...…….Cheers Kev

Hi jack , yes it’s definitely worth it . Great bit of kit, from Bachmann . Plus don’t need big layouts to run it on , as it’s just 1 car unit . Who knows may weather it , have a thing about weathering most things Hahahha . Grime them up , I will get round to your decals you sent soon . Been very busy lately and moving careers. I'm sure our old DMU's we had in South Wales only had one White and one Red per end, our Trains had BR Blue & White, I forget the Class but they where 3 Car trains though later on we did have some temporary network south east with first class compartments

After watching this video i can't decided which is better Dapol 121 bubble car or Bachmann 121 bubble car which one should i get.

That’s a good question, personally I have 3 Dapol ones and this one . I say depends what your after both are really good , but Bachmann do less liveries but have a better updated model , of the 121 . That runs superbly and Dapols is good , but not a great runner straight out of box and the dcc element , will need tweeking so you can control the interior lights as I said , in the video . If Bachmann do a livery you like , I say a Bachmannn you can’t go too wrong 👍

Thank you , err might do , I may stick with the 117 . As the 2HAP is electric isn’t it and I only have a modern image layout with overheads and 3rd rail . Mmm not to sure , never know . Thanks for commenting

@@AmeryJunction yeah 2HAP is being done in green but also NSE livery for 90s enthusiasts. I remember the HAPs and CAPs which ran their last years on the suburban Kent Link lines though they had Kent Coast decals from their previous time. The model looks excellent. I like your 2 class 121s in NSE colours. Have a great evening.

Howmuch price .where did you buy this train ?

Great eastern models , in Norwich and I payed £130 I think and then a plux 22 DCC decoder for it
