Unboxing & Setting Up a Reecom R-200! (At My Grandparents’ House)

My new favorite radio! I requested this as a potential Christmas gift from my grandparents, and they agreed (I also got them a radio, a 12-261 from RadioShack, and set it up for them). So here’s the video of when I set it up and discovered its various features.
Note: these are not the grandparents whose house I was at when I made my first-ever EAS video.

Thank you! Yeah, it’s definitely too expensive. I only got it through my grandparents, and on that day I also gave them a weather radio (admittedly, a much more affordable one, but I wanted to at least repay them somewhat). But it’s still the most advanced weather-only weather I’ve ever heard of, and I would still recommend it.

Awesome! I just got one of these after being a frequent donor, and it’s kind of an honor to have one because there’s like 5 videos on it P.S. Is mine special? Because it has “Blue Alert” as one of the options for defeating the siren

Thank you! That’s really cool, and actually, I don’t know if that would yours different or not, as the Blue Alert does appear in the alert list on mine, it just isn’t able to be turned off. When was yours made?

I think mine was made in around 2021? Because when it powered on, it said Jan 1, 2021. I think

@@joshbrony2204 Nice. That would indicate it was made in January 2021, which I believe is also when mine was made. In that case, I would check if you actually can turn off that alert and any others like that, or if they just appear in a list. When I first discovered the feature that lets you view all the alerts it knows, regardless of whether they can be disabled, I thought something was weird about it too, but then I found that not all in that list can actually be interacted with.

Update: Mine was built in July 2020, and Blue Alert can be disabled

hooking it up to that external antenna should give you a very nice monitor for wxr
