The indentation on the upper arm piece is definitely not a defect or bad vacuum pull. It is, in fact, very screen/film accurate. :). I worked for Hasbro on the Star Wars line for many years so, my information is confirmed with Lucasfilm archival information.

Your channel has reached a whole new level in terms of content richness with the addition of unboxing videos, armor(helmet) videos, colloboration (with I am shad) videos and last but not least videos with your costume designer wife. Keep up the great work. I have seen your "how to prepare a quality video: behind the scenes" video, and I think the richness/diversity in actual content is so much more important than the formal and templated presentation.

FYI from my own lessons Learned on Anovos Kit. 1. Their strap system identifying document can give you a headache so I highly suggest figuring out which strap is what and put them in zip lock bags with labels saying what they are before you even start. 2. You may already know this but get E6000 Adhesive - It will save you a headache 3. Start trimming the easier pieces (IE Shoulders) that don't require gluing makes you feel like you've made some progress 4. You are going to need a tool to punch down the snaps (may want to buy it before you start) 5. Scratches - Don't remove the plastic until you are ready to wear it. However, if you still have scratches you can sand the scratches away. I start with 600 and go upto 2000 (wet sanding) and then use neutral shoe polish to give it shine (if you have ever done a spit shine that's what you want). Anyway - Good Luck. Oh - I have some pretty decent forearms like you - It goes without saying don't trim it all the way down if you gotten the Large Kit (that's what I got). I left some extra material so I could fit my forearm into that thing once its glued.

Great video. I am a bit disappointed that the armour and helmet is not completed at such a cost.

Very cool! I built a set of ATA armor back in October, it is a TON of fun! If you've ever built model ships, it's like that, but way more time consuming and exhausting, and way more satisfying because the end product is wearable armor! I sent you a message on Reddit with a Google Doc link (didn't want to post it to KZbin just yet) with a ton of resources for building stormtrooper armor, good luck! :D

i just got my kit today and was surfing for videos. I love that your wife is already in the 501st, would love to see how she helps you make this 501st approved because I am sure that is the goal of many people who bought this kit! Please share her thoughts moving forward :)
@medievalreview9 жыл бұрын
+Kevin Kwok I think we will do some of this. Currently we have to figure out the path to approval, in it's stock condition it's apparently lacking, and needs some minor things to meet approval. Or at least, that is my understanding.
@KevinKwok1239 жыл бұрын
Yeah thats also my understanding. They tried to make it really clear that this was not 501st approved as is. I'll be following you on this journey and maybe we will meet each other at an event some day! ha.

@medievalreview8 жыл бұрын
+Edward Medina When I get back from vacation, I will likely do a quick update video about some of the problems we have faced so far, thoughts on the easier way to work with trimming, etc. I don't know how valuable my insight will be compared to more seasoned TK builders, but I will provide it none the less.
@edwardmedina12368 жыл бұрын
Medieval Review I got mine around the same time and I am just now starting on the trimming. Starting to wonder if I should have bought the ready to wear one from Original Stromtroopers. No - I should have confidence in my abilities. I just need more examples on how they fit. I'll be putting ANH and pausing the video to look how it actually fits.

+1Forge 2RuleThemAll (1Forge2RuleThemAll) It is plastic, so I'd expect it to be quite manoeuvrable.

+MuikuliWander You'd be surprised. It's impossible to sit down in it without modifying the codpiece, and the shape of the helmet makes it impossible to look down. You get use to it, but it does restrict a good bit. Especially since this is fantasy armor designed to look cool in a movie, rather than real armor designed to actually function on a battle field.

Anovos, as she said, is very hit or miss. There are many better kits out there for the same or better prices. I recommend RSPropMasters from the UK, it is the only company that casts off the origional molds. Before buying Anovos, at least check their website and compare for yourself.

Very disappointed with what Anovos have come up with. It's an obvious recast of RS with the detail cleaned up excissively and largely unhelpful cut lines added to the molds. The license (and supposed access to the archives (their claim not mine!) was an opportunity to bring the community something new and maybe even better than we already have. Sadly, it wasn't to be.
