You are incredible! I'm so proud of you. You are entirely to young to know that much about orchids and their parentage. The plants are gorgeous. All look very health. Good buys. So glad you got them. Great video. I have scribed. I definitely can learn something from you.

Nice plants, Isis!! Ps: C. schilleriana is an endemic species of here, Espírito Santo (state where I live in Brazil). It's smell is wonderful!! good luck with plants!

I understand you completely. If I lived in a nicer climate with garden with a lot of space for orchids, I would love to do something similar, and get different varieties of my favorite orchids, and their crosses. You got some very cool plants and I'm interested to know how the blooms will be. I have seen c. tenebrosa alba and it is really beautiful. I have only the normal c. tenebrosa (tipo), and it's about to bloom very soon. I keep watching the sheath against the light and waiting. :) Last year it produced amazing blooms.

SVO is awesome! So many to choose from. And i think they pride themselves on the black orchids. They are located in vista California which close to san diego i think. I have one of their orchids that was given to me by one of the guys when SVO was at the orchid show here in arroyo grande, California. I think its called magic wand. Anyway i have no idea how to take care of these guys but i am giving it my best! Looks as if i can learn a lot from you. Isis, the orchid princess 😊 haha Gabe

My wife and I, (Wife in profile photo) Just got back into orchids. I swore I'd never touch another orchid for as long as I live. 25 years a Cattleya grower, commercial, for Rod McLellan's and then across the U.S. into the deep south, Carter and Holmes orchids. I am amazed how popular Cattleyas are again. Catts and species Catts and related species. You go Girl. I confess, by my wife's last count we are almost touching the 300 mark. We have many fine things from Fred Clarke. As far as youth, I was 25 by the time I grew for RODCO. I knew the "greats", Miss Rod by four years. We need "youth" in the grand old hobby, It is dying at the hands of the Foreign markets and their taste. When I grew you still had ROCDO, Frank Fordyce, The Beal Co., Stewart's, Housermann's of Chicago, Jones and Scully, Off Orchid or Waldor's, Silva's, Fennel's Orchid Jungle and nursery and the legends go on and on. Bring back the Cattleya.

Wow how have I never seen your channel before? I was looking for SVO unboxing videos because I just pre-ordered a bunch of plants for when Fred Clarke visits my OS next month!! :D I am starting to get into catasetums, but it's nice to see your cattleyas anyway! :) And I really want a Cattleya tenebrosa... they seem so nice! I saw one on orchids & a dutchy's channel if I'm not mistaken.

+Astrid Thanks for watching! I'm glad you found me :D I haven't tried catasetums yet, but Fred is coming to orchid society next month too so I'll probably end up with one! :)

Oh man we are so twinsies of meeting Fred Clarke on the same month!! Haha!! I am kind of Wow-ed at how huge some of them are - have you seen cycnoches warscewiczii? Flowers as big as your hand!! I know they're not all that big but some are shockingly large!

Nice video, Isis! I can't blame you for going a little nuts with Fred's stuff. He has very nice things. I want to get a microphone like that too. Doing videos in the greenhouse is really tough with all the fans running. I wanted to ask what you use for video editing. I'm looking for something different. Be well. Always nice to see you!!
@IsisOrchidsChannel9 жыл бұрын
Wade's Orchids The microphone makes a big difference in cutting out background noise! My neighbor's dogs are always barking and you can barely hear them now. I just found a cheap one, like less than 10 bucks on amazon with decent reviews and it works great! I use iMovie to edit my videos which came on my computer - if you have a Mac you probably have it too.

Hi! Nice video. I just have one cattleya and I haven't been able to make it rebloom! Of course I have others but this are very difficult for me, maybe can you share some tips? Thanks!
@IsisOrchidsChannel9 жыл бұрын
Bety Cu I'm definitely not an expert at orchid growing (just extremely enthusiastic) so I would recommend asking other you tubers what they think (like Wade's Orchids or *****). From what I've read, if something is not blooming, more light tends to be the answer! Good luck!

What kind of camera do you use? I really like how your videos look.
@IsisOrchidsChannel8 жыл бұрын
+Barbara Rodriguez Thanks for watching Barbara! :) This video was recorded with my Macbook, and I also use my iPhone and sometimes a GoPro. I think the key is to have good, bright lighting which is why I do most of my videos outside :) I also do all my videos in HD (720 or 1080p).
