The only time I use the ruler is along the edge of the canvas for a straight edge, especially if I have to trim the canvas along the picture area.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. Never saw this comment until now. I tried the ruler. Didn't fit right. Besides I think it would drive me crazy to continually move it. Good idea to use it just on the edge. Thanks!
