That spot welder looks like a great mobile option. Maybe you want to test/diagnose/troubleshoot a project on the go. Or maybe you have a friend that needs something spot welded, you just pack that up in your bikes storage bag and off you go.

I subscribed to your channel because i like to know more about building battery packs and electronics now because it is is my passion when i was young. You can not compare nickel to nickel welts if you fold it cause then the metall ends need a high pressure to be welded on while 2 separated nickel pieces lay on over each others without much pressure needed. Looks not so bad especially the battery welds

I'm interested in the chemistry but moreso in a shootout to show how much better performance across a few price tiers. I seldom need any welding but I'm saving up cells for a pretty big pack and my homemade is not up to that challenge.

to be honest, it seems like an okay spot welder considering. Not sure if I'd use it for ebike batteries, but fixing powerbanks or other makerish things with 18650s seems doable for it.

I have a question concerning your welding tips. Do these seem more pointed than your other spot welders? This might explain the lack of holding power for the nickel to nickel welds.

How do ya know what thickness the nickel sheets have to be, and what amp the cells should be? I think I understand the capacity side of things. For example, I am thinking about building a new battery for my electric scooter... It has dual 1600w motors, or 3200W total. The battery it came with was a 35ah 60v, but I need to try to just about double the capacity and yet still fit it inside the same battery compartment which is already stuffed full. Any suggestions would be helpful and I guess also I am assuming that if the metal sheets are thicker, that I wouldn't be able to use a small welder like this one?

Didn't see any reference to the actual use of the USB C cable.. I assume that USB A connector on the side of the unit means you charge from a USB C charger.. how long does that take? Is there a single 18650 inside? Are the probes spring loaded? Is the arc drawn automatically when the probes detect continuity? Can you adjust anything but the duration of the discharge?

Hello, love your videos. I have a bit of an unrelated question I didn't know where to ask. I'm going on an ebike holiday. My girlfriend will have 2x 48v 15ah batteries and I will have a 48v 30ah battery. Can I charge these batteries all together at one power point (European)? I want to use at least 2x 2amp charger and one 4amp charger but even higher if possible. Thank you
