Hi, AsadKnight! Nice unboxing! Really do love the artwork on this. Might have to eventually get it if you say it looks better in person! 😎 Hope you liked the film!

There’s still stock on this one as well as the others (expect Coraline for obvious reasons) so if they go on sale, it’s worth a purchase As for the movie, I just about liked it but I do think it might be one of Laika’s weaker films if not my least favourite. There’s nothing really wrong with it, but I did struggle to get into the story and the characters until towards the end where I did end up liking it well enough. The production is still great for a stop motion film so there’s that to appreciate. I’d say give it a chance and see what you think of it The 4K transfer is great (which is more than I can say for Wallace & Gromits 4K release 🙁) with plenty of detail on various materials to behold so no complaints there and there’s enough bonus material to give you insight into how it was done so this release (and I’m pretty sure the others) are worth it on those merits

@@AsadKnightVideos Oh yes, I see it's a more reasonable price for a SteelBook. I'll keep an alert on. I shall keep my expectations at the mid-range then for this. I watched the trailer again and I think I might have mixed it up with something else in my head so it definitely needs another watch. I'm still behind on my Ghibli re-watch after everything that has been released lately! Oh no! What's wrong with the Wallace & Gromit 4K??? I'm intrigued now!! I'm glad The Boxtrolls is a good transfer though. Sounds like an all-round excellent package! Thanks!

So like me, your interest and priorities shifted. Just go with what you want to watch and eventually you’ll get back to Ghibli soon enough Starting off, while the audio pitch has been corrected, it seems the picture has been managed with possible DNR and AI usage. A Grand Day Out gets away mostly unscathed with a lot of detail still intact so it’s the best of the 4 Both The Wrong Trousers & A Close Shave are the worst in my opinion with it looking softer than the prior Blu-ray (which is included in the new release) A Matter of Loaf & Death is an inconsistent mess of good looking shots and softer looking ones but it also brings in visual issues that the Blu-ray had little to none off So out of the 4 shorts being “restored”, I only liked 1.5 out of the 4 transfers which is not good especially when the best looking feature on the collection is a documentary on the bonus disc 😒

@@AsadKnightVideos Exactly, yes. I am trying to resist peer pressure but everyone likes to ruin things so I have to quickly catch up! It's quite annoying. Great about the audio but shame about the possible A.I and DNR! Ruins a lot these days. Oh, I thought it was only the 4K, glad they included the Blu so you can compare and contrast. This is a great shame. Do you think they rushed them all out? It does seem to me that Shout Studios are being very lazy these days with their 4K transfers, That is, if they really are in-house. I can imagine if the BBC did these, they would be to blame because they are pretty incompetent with everything!

I understand. Peer pressure is tough to deal with but I think there can be a balance if those involved take the time to understand each others interests rather than force people into something because it’s popular I feel it’s more that the people involved don’t seem to take the time to oversee the process and do some final assessment. If they have done that, then I have to wonder what their thought process was. At least Park Road seem to have got the hang of it with The Terminator and Titanic Also the Wallace & Gromit 4K disc is labelled as The Complete Cracking Collection so apart from the BBC logo at the beginning, it should be the same in the US I’m thinking that might be the case. The new movie “Vengeance Most Foul” is going to be on TV on Christmas Day (with a limited release in cinema a week before) so this new release is definitely capitalising on the hype Regarding Shout Factory, they did release the Laika 4K restorations nearly 2 years ago and those were done very well so I’m not sure
