ABOUT EPIPHONE
---
For 150 years, Epiphone has been a leading innovator in instrument design with models like the Casino, the Texan, and Masterbilt Century Archtop Collection. Epiphone began as the "House of Stathopoulo" family business in Sparta in the 1870s and rose to fame during the jazz age in Manhattan before joining Gibson brands in 1957. Today, Epiphone continues to make history from its headquarters in Nashville, TN. Epiphones have powered classic recordings by Les Paul, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones along with today's top artists like Peter Frampton, Gary Clark Jr., Tommy Thayer of KISS, and Lzzy Hale. Epiphone offers innovation, history, and a lifetime guarantee. Whether you are learning your first song in your bedroom, or rocking an arena, Epiphone has always been there, for everyone, for every generation, for every stage.

James Bay is a talented kid who is doing his own thing - the world of music needs more people like him! Neat guitar. How cool is it to have your own signature guitar? Too cool. I kinda like the fact that it's an Epi and not a Gibson - his original 66 was an Epi. You don't need a custom shop Gibson to succeed - you just need tons of talent, like James has.

budgetguitarist.com You know Epi's from the 60's are very similar to (sometimes better than) Gibson and the value is fairly similar too right? Epi's as an Asian-made lower spec Gibson is a fairly recent thing.

Ended up picking this model up too and WOW. One of the best Epiphone guitars to date . More versatile than one might expect. I love having both versions. The neck on this model is definitely more of a slim profile but extraordinarily comfortable and super easy on the hand. Can't say enough good things about this guitar. A real treat when you open up the case.

Cool! I have owned a 1966 Epiphone Sorrento for 51 years. It's the only axe that I have retained despite having fenders, gibsons, and more. People don't realize that 60's Epiphones were made right in the old Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan. So you get vintage american quality at very reasonable prices. I also find the epiphone necks to be more comfortable for me.

I hope you didn't pay too much. You do know this is a £400 model Epiphone already make that wasn't selling so they added the James Bay name to it and included it with a case in the Masterbuilt line? Their marketing works on some people!

There are several differences, the main one (and most costly one) being that it uses a Kinman noiseless P90.

Saw James on 9/21/16 at the Fillmore in Miami, have him doing "Let It Go" live on my KZbin Channel...the solo he does in the beginning is incredible of that song. My son is such a fan that he bought 1963 Gibson which is almost identical to the Epi 1966 but Gibson's version. Now he wants this James sig guitar.

This is one of my favorite models to date . I don't own the Bay signature but do own the 66 reissue as I just prefer the satin finish feel. It is far more versatile than I expected with excellent build quality. Honestly one of the better reissues to date from Epiphone and very true to an original 66 at an affordable price. I will definitely invest in a case due to the high quality of this instrument. Anyone on the fence on buying either this or the 66 reissue will be pleasantly surprised by it I believe. I know the Bay signature is super limited I think with only roughly around 600 or so.

My 8 month old Ep1phone Century 1966 plays an sounds great lots of good sound come out. My only problem is I have a really loud 60 cycle hum on stage. In the exact same spot with the same pedals my Epiphone Dot335 and Gibson Les Paul Studio are quite (no hum). I am standing about 20 foot from a wireless mike receiver rack but again my other two guitars with the same set-up do no have the hum. Are there any filter circuits I can add, is the P90 possibly defective?

I thought I heard some 60 cycle hum when he removed his fingers from the strings? Maybe he's using a different PU from the Kinman noiseless P-90s? Cool guitar though. I'm a huge P-90 fan too. Bet it would be a sweet blues guitar.

Juan Carlos Lopez The pickup in the James Bay model is a branded noiseless one, the James Bay guitar has a gloss finish as opposed to the satin finish of the Inspired By and since it's a limited run and it's a tad more expensive, I do reckon a bit more TLC would go into making the James Bay guitars. I love the Inspired By though, I just bought one too and I struggle to put it down!

Schmo Joe with p90s when you turn down the volume to around 6 the guitar gets a compressed tone, if you have volume and tone all the way up, it has an incredible clean and clear tone

I'm sure the one they handed him is near perfect in fit and finish but after going through 3 Gary Clark Casinos and sending them all back due to the abysmal fit and finish I'm of the opinion that Epiphone is putting out pure junk for the general public to buy. And after writing customer service and getting no response I'm equally convinced they don't care...

what a load of rubbish , Epi's are great guitars.. do u work at Gibson? ..I've bought Gibsons that was impossible to set up properly ... a CS R7 that would never pass the final inspection in any Epi factory..Gibson are very overprised for the quality u get..just check out a PRS in the same 3000$ bracket..thats good quality.. at the moment Gibson is surviving mainly cause of the very high sales of Epis..without Epi they would be gone
