Mine was delivered this past Saturday. $3k from Best Buy. Easily matches the 85" QM8 that I had (and returned) before it. Easily. The remote of the QM8 is much better, however. That's about the only thing the U8K doesn't match or surpass vs the QM8. And lemme tell ya...it's BIG. And heavy (150ish lb). Well worth $3k for a home theater set up if you don't want to mess with a projector.

The remote of u8K is mean to stand --UP right. It’s a --SELF STANDING remote. Vs QM8 long laying flat. U8K remote is Space saving, with curve that fits yr palm . It wont lay flat get ugly ,taking table space. Also it has 18 feet distance high end sensor for voice command. Unlike most voice sensor TVs only have 8-9 feet distance. U can easily look for weather, or news, or random things by speaking to HIsense thru sensor --WITHOUT having to shout . It’s insane. Those are all ONLY features come in like $3000-4000 + TVS usually for flagship panels for d Big 3. Those --ONLINE influncers are NOT going to promote that, cuz they hate HIsense. They do NOT want ppl like us to konw. They want us laugh at it to think its a “useless feature no one use”.

The QM8 is way better its not even close I have had both. Qm8 black levels are oled like and clarity is way better on Qm8. I had multiple issues with my 100 U8K blooming was very noticeable screen was more grey then black alot of dse , and sports were unwatchable the motion was terrible. Only thing that looked good on the U8K was Disney plus . Qm8 blows it away and its not close especially in the black level department.

There's something you can't quite put your finger on with projected image - might be because of the cinema connection, I don't know, but it's not comparable to a TV at any size. It just has a totally different feel to it. I see why some people prefer it, but feature wise, certain TVs destroy projectors hands down, especially when it comes to gaming, VRR etc. For gaming, the right TV is the clear winner, but for film/TV, it's a very subjective thing.

I think, The 100” U8K panel has worse black levels! When I have purchased the TV I was very exited thinking that I’m getting the great U8K series picture quality in 100” size TV, but after receving the TV I found out that the panel on the 100U8K is totally deferent than the one on the 65”U8K that I saw on display at multiple Best Buy stores! Any one can tell by looking to the panel even when the TV is turned off, the 100” panel has a cheap plastic look with kind of some flexibility and it doesn’t have the inky black color with a glass look that I saw on the 65” U8K, you can see the deference in the materials clearly by looking to the edges of each panel, on the 100U8K you can see that the panel is behind the TV frame with no glass looking layer on top of it, while on the 65” U8K you can see the glass looking layer on the TV screen and that is very clear when you look at the top and side edges of the screen, also you can see the deference in the panels colors between both, the 65” U8K has a very deep inky black color while the 100U8K has a regular LCD color like any old type LCD TV. At the begining I thougut that maybe the 100” size has a deferent design and it should deliver the exact same picture quality, but I realized that that I was mistaken at the moment I turned the TV on, the picture was way too different than the 65” U8K, on the 100U8K the blooming is obvious, the colors are lifted, the black is nothing like the 65” U8K, and the contrast is worse, even after spending about 4 hours calibrating the TV colors and contrast to get the U8K picture quality. In my opinion, part of the bad picture quality on the 100U8K because the screen panel material color is not inky black like the one on the 65” U8K, which makes the blacks on the 100U8K looks like very dark gray rather than black, because normally the way to display a black color on an LCD screen is to block the backlight from going through the LCD at the black color part of the picture (shutting off the screen at the black part) also by turning off the backlight at the black part of the picture as well on some TVs that equipped with a local dimming zones technology, in other words the LCD panel (and the backlight on some TVs) will be turned off completely if you tried to display a 100% full screen black color, which logically yields that the depth of the black color on a an LCD TV has a direct relation to it’s LCD natural color, which at the end will effect the general picture quality and the depth of the colors at the end. I think the easiest way to have an idea about the deepest black color that a TV can achieve (and that’s something totally different from the contrast) is simply by turning it off and see how black the screen is, and that exactly what you will see on the 100U8K panel. Bottom line, I believe I understand why the 100U8K has such a low price, and most likely I’m going to return it and get a 98” from TCL for the same or a lower price if I want to get a low picture quality with a deeper black levels or I’m going to get the 98” QM8 for a higher picture quality. Also I have noticed that the screen has uneven surface, you can see that clearly in the lighting reflections on the screen, it supposed to be flat screen but it’s not and that’s why the lights reflection looks wavy. You can check my 1 star view at Best Buy for some pictures of the panel edges from my 100U8K and for the pane edges of the 65” U8K as well as a picture showing the reflection deference on the material for both TVs.

I 100% agree as I had this tv also. My unit had multiple qc issues along with blooming, dse, and lifted blacks. Hisense is one of those semi secret brands among TV/home theater enthusiasts. They make excellent tvs at a great price. :Edit: goddamn I ruffled some feathers 😂. Look it's not just my opinion, most reviewers and rtings have had positive results with Hisense TVs too. They have excellent local dimming/brightness/color. To each their own, but my experiences with Hisense have all far exceeded expectations for the price point I was purchasing them in. Is it my main TV? No. My main TV is an LG Oled. But my other tv's are Hisense or my older Plasmas.

Chinese trash. If you want a quality discount brand, go TCL. Made in USA, and their actual screens are manufactured by Samsung (or at least they were for years, not sure if they still are). I have one 1080p and one 4k that I've had for years now. Roku included. Better quality than Hisense or Vizio for sure.

In case anyone didn't know, as a former Best buy TV sales rep, always know that the cable programming format is still only 1080p, not 4k. So no matter how advanced your tv monitor is, you're still only get the format of program the content is providing. For example channels like METV, Hallmark and Freeform format programming is still 480p. Any 4k tv will still give you the best quality picture cable is providing right now until the format changes in programming.

There are a few things here that are crazy: 1) I grew up in a time when a 32" color TV was a big screen. Not a Big Screen, like a rear projector thing. But 32" was big! And nearly square. Now we have a nice large pretty rectangle. 2) These tube tv's were also wide, but in the other ways. Like from the side. And god damn heavy. If you've never had to move a tube TV you are LUCKY! 3) I might actually be able to afford a ONE HUNDRED INCH TV in a few years. Tell 10 year old me that. I dare you. Hope you like screaming. I might actually be able to have a freaking screen the about the size of what you'd see at my local mall in the 90s....right in my living room. Nice.

After using an projector for many years, at 120 inches, the biggest problem I have going back to a TV is the terrible reflections I can see so clearly now. Even in this video I see the light sources, you, etc. Using the Formovie Theater with a nice UST ALR screen is not quite up to TVs with ambient light, but it really isnt as far off as you might expect. With controlled lighting my projector looks absolutely insane and near oled levels for contrast.
@getstuk87 Жыл бұрын
I don't know about near OLED performance. Blacks will never be anywhere near that with the types of projectors we have. I have two, a 4k BenQ UST 120" and a long throw 135". They are still sweet but OLED is a whole different thing. I would go OLED if a 110" came out and wasn't $10k+. Edit: holy ish this is $3k. I am almost certainly buying this. That black bezel is annoying but I think I'll pull the trigger.
