Thank you for introducing this nice set of CIWL Pullman "Couplages" and "Furgons". I have some older ones and CIWL "Voiture lits" made by Rivarossi, Jouef and LS Models. Nowadays I'm going to start building some models of former CIWL wagons remained in the GDR by using Jouef models. In the late 50s and early 60s the Mitropa in their workshop Gotha converted former CIWL wagons type Y into restaurant cars and modified former CIWL-WR with new doors, boogies and a renewed interieur. My Mitropa sleeper type "Malmö", originally based on modified former CIWL S2, is now ready for painting. It seems that the Mitropa was impressed and inspired by the CIWL "Voitures metalliques". Their newly build sleeping, restaurant and "Rheingold" cars in 1927/28 not only have an nearly equal length (23,5 m over buffers) and some similarities in technical finish. The "Rheingold"-carriages even designed as "Couplages" in first class (SA4ük+SA4ü) and second class (SB4ük+SB4ü). As nice as this Trix-/Märklin trainset may be, I pre-ordered the ones announced by Rivarossi and Jouef. Best regards and thank you for your videos 🙂

Duh looks beautiful but those are actually a modified Marklin Carriages not true DC/ DCC - you still need to tie them together with current conducting couplers -and in specific order! TRIX Engineers are getting lazy… each carriage should have own set of pickups so they could be run separately of each other!!! TRIX killed C-sine motor now this ! They cutting down on investment I guess.

You might have to take a better look at this set. All cars can be used separately and they do not have a fixed order. Of course the car with the red tail light looks best at the end, but you can put it in the middle of your train when you like. No reason to speak bad of Trix and/or Märklin.

Too bad they printed the itinerary on the side, even over a seam (Etoile du Nord) and too big at that - instead of having separate itinerary panels. Reminder of the old tin plate stuff, at a moment when that is the last thing I would want to be reminded of. A next production run could easily correct this. Then I think I would even be able to overlook the thick, fat rivets. Maybe.
