I suppose to some extent I used one, although until now I never knew the "whole kit" existed. I bought my pump and filter with uv as a kit (and even though the company told me the smaller kit would be good enough...borderline AND unusual monetary wise!) I went for the next size up...glad I did. Added 2 x fountains and lots of plants...water has been clear this year.

Spot on, I would always recommend upgrading the filter if your loading up on the fish or wanting to do less pond maintenance. The think I did not like about make recommendation to box filters and built in Uvc is another video, so many variables. With these ecosystem pond kits it's much easier as it's all designed to work together. You will get a clear water guarantee with some pump and filter combination but not all the time you will have clear water, once you read the small print or the fish out grow the small print. After building a diy pond myself I can see the advantage of pond kits. Even if I could afford the $200 for the pump box would have been worth it,.

Hi Mark, thanks for the video! Note that there's also a DIY pond kit from Aquascpe, 8x11 as well... what would you say to a home owner who is uncomfortable paying an additional thousand odd dollars for it for a pond of the same size?

The DIY grade kits are good, still better than making your own kit up and getting something wrong. The pro v DIY pond kits “pro” are longer lasting and “diy” more affordable

Hi Mark. Good information. I already have a pond, about 12 years old. It was DIY and has given me a lot of pleasure, but I always feel it is not finished.
