That Ms 162 has a professional saw sprocket cover look to it except only one bar nut and not captive . Cool looking saw for the homeowner !

Hi, i recently stumbled upon y'all's old (I guess) channel. I found this one through one of the replies on one of that channels videos. I was wondering why y'all switched to this channel? Also I think this saw will be a great option for homeowners

Will not be trading my 170 for one of these anytime soon lol I love my 261cm, but the 170 comes in a close second. The 162 sound like it's out of breath before it even touches a log

Definitely sounds more restricted. Although a peek under the spark arrestor reveals a quick and easy solution, wink wink.

usually those small town hardware stores will still have some in stock. i just picked up 2 yesterday when i found out stihl discontinued the 170. the 170 are such reliable and solid saws that will last twenty years. new saws are junk. don’t believe the hype of the new lower end model saws being good. the 170 and 180 were the last generation saws that you could get cheap that were built to last.

I can appreciate what theyre tryin to do,but i feel like theyre tryin to fix stuff that isnt broken. Id rather keep the lighter weight and bulletproof simplistic design. The old air filter kinda wasnt the best,but these saws are for casual users doing yard cleanup. The vibration on these little saws is almost nonexistent with the chains they run. I hope stihl did this well enough ti make it worth the cost.

emissions is what killed the 170. theres only so much you can eliminate with 2 strokes where eventually its going to push manufacturers to go straight ev. the new line of stihl lower end model probably has a thicker spark arrestor or something lol

@@jonnysnipes3123 I know. Makita is a good example of that. They produced some of the best 2 strike engines in the world out of their dolmar plant in Germany, but as far as I understand theyve completely switched over to electric. No more gas chainsaw, leaf blowers,or string trimmers.

@@ciphercode2298 i remember makita/dolmar. those were some top of the line german saws. its a shame they discontinued their gas saws. at least o think they discontinued them because i couldnt find any model of their brand in gas still around brand new

Stihl USA states 1.7hp as does the owners manual.

Better suspension?? Well, my 2004 Homelite has springs for suspension, so why did Stihl wait so long? The tensioner should have been updated a long time ago and sorry, But I don't like the single bar nut. I've had one and would never go back to that again. No Thanks.

And the 2004 Homelite vibration levels were way higher than the Stihl rubber buffers.

Not know set carburetor very big problem only one Jack No more! My Stihl 880 and Stihl 171 I know set 3 karburetor jacks high and low carburetor jacks but Stihl 162 not know high and low carburetor jacks. But very cheap Stihl 162 if I work much cut 50 m3 wood need set carburetor but this time Stihl chainshaw No work crash engine cylinder and everything need repair and change this Why not economy change nothing products because very expensive. Need buy new not reapair not change engine..etc

The adjustment issue stems back to clean air standards. If you can adjust you can make it dirty.

@@carlsmowerandsaw It seems to me that this is more for cost reasons, as the MS 182 and MS 212 models have a three-way adjustable carburetor.
