I have not done mystery boxes. I like the idea of them being for new releases rather than like a J 🌟 mystery box where they're just trying to get rid of wild lip colors and highlighters no one wants. You convinced me to try Warm Wishes and j'adore it. Chef's kiss. Their lip balms and eye bases are nice too. I branched out a bit with my last order. Probably because it was one of my last before going on a makeup no buy until Black Friday sales begin.

@SarahJo Do you think you will use the blush as a coloured highlighter situation, or are they just not your thing? The shades looked lovely and I was curious how they would work as highlighters for a little boost of colour.

@@SilverBanfaith I'm way too fair for that, they show up really pigmented on my skin so they're just not my thing, but my best friend is really hyped to get the palette so they'll get good use!

@@SarahJo Good to know, thanks! It can be hard to tell how pigmented something is on camera. I'm about as fair as you are, so it seems likely this might be a problem for me too. I look forward to seeing what the other Unearthly blushes look like in the future.

Beautiful palette, an SO YOU! I think that lavender (comes through filming as such) would look as your main life color, maybe with a shifty topper! A Colourpop pot (they make amazing toppers in SO many choices)??? Blending into a deeper shade with a similar base tone OR as an all over wash of color! The blush palette is great, but I have a trick that might make them useable for you? It’s just my trick to enjoy the trend without emphasizing my texture, but you may also like this? I would use the blush as a topper. Put your matte blush down as normal (this is fun with blush draping, though I do it much more subtle than most). Tap your (shimmer blush) brush off well. *make sure you chose the shade closest to your blush color* Apply very lightly, right under the cheek bone/top of your blush line and blend into your blush with a light hand. For myself, I also apply it close to the area just under my temple, along the side of my blush line and blend… connecting to the high point of my cheekbone (where my scarring ends). I further blend by tapping it in and towards the matte blush with a Real Techniques sponge that is entirely dry or nearly so. I love the trend of _slightly_ dewy blush, but it enhances my scars and my skin is oily so it looks like crap within about 4 hours. I skip highlight when I do this. My favorite blush palette is Juvia’s Place Saharan Blush Volume II! I do believe the Volume II is for darker skin (oops) and I am of the pasty white variety, but a very light handed application, with a light dip, and good tap off… works great and it has colors from a brownish-red to a cold-weather-purple to that pink! The 2 toppers are a light lavender-pink and warm-purple(hard to explain. The shimmers also have a matte base to them, if that makes sense? Along with being a great shadow palette, if you use shadow brushes and a finger for the shimmers, it makes for a great, quick monochromatic look, simple shadow look, or single color look! I also major single shadow shimmers as my eyes are hooded and you can’t see much on my lower lid 😍 Maybe this will help? Maybe it won’t? I’m sure you know the tricks! AND what you like, it’s just one way to highlight without going full shimmer 😂 Also I know I still owe you a look. I fell off the d side of the RV pretty bad and am waiting for the facial swelling to go down first 🤣

I've done those in the past too! Fun for when I was just getting into makeup and wasn't 100% sure what I liked yet, but nowadays I like knowing what I'm spending my money on for the most part. This is the rare exception lol

i like a semi surprise - i enjoy making wishlists and let people pick from them if they´re buying presents for me because i want that level of control. mystery boxes are a bit too chancy for me😂
