I unboxed mine the other day and the brake and brake servo weren't even set up but instead was in a plastic bag! It sold as RTR and seems there's so much for me to do after watching all the vudeos before I even attempt to use it, eg set up break and servo, fix the serious and potentially catastrophic drive shaft and travel issues, strip it down and check the differentials and fill with lubricant, disassemble and rebuild the shocks and do an all over check on all the hard ware to make sure their all tight! Seriously, if I knew there was this much effort involved in getting this car up to speed in getting it going, I never would have purched it as I'm only new to RC buggies and hence why I thought I was buying a RTR vehicle! 🙄

That’s not right! I’ve never heard of anybody’s car arriving partially assembled. Mine was ready to go. You should take pictures and send them to the vendor requesting a partial refund. When I saw the first couple words of your post, I was ready to send congratulations, what a bummer! Try to look on the up side. When you’ve finished, you’ll know your way around the truck and you’ll know that nothing will fail due to the assemblers doing a bad job. Take notes on what weight fluids you use in diffs and shocks so you can recreate if needed. I’m big on using build sheets. There isn’t one from the manufacturer… or there wasn’t one at the time. I made my own in photoshop. My email address is cjs_tri05@yahoo.com send me an email and I’ll reply with the sheet attached. Don’t let someone’s screwup keep you from enjoying your new RC car! BTW, my mother passed quietly last night at 1:05AM.

What’s the availability of spare parts here in the USA?
@MyRCChannel-CJScott
@MyRCChannel-CJScott Жыл бұрын
Probably zero… but shipping from overseas is reasonably fast. You’ve got to check several places like makerfire and aliexpress for example… any vendor that sells the buggy will usually have some parts.

@@carvingfool Yes, mostly solid… a few week spots. The rear dog bones is the main one. I ordered a set of front axles and hopefully they will fit in place. I’ll be doing a video on that and a few other items in the next couple weeks.

Hi, any idea what programming card works with this car? I find the brakes too weak.

Hello, sorry for the late reply… I’m not sure, but the Hobbywing programming box may work. I recall hearing something about that. I’d put it to the test but I’m in the process of moving into new home and most of my stuff is packed and I have to setup my new hobby rooms and unpack. The good news is that once I get set up the quality of my videos and the frequency that I release them will greatly improve. I’ve purchased some cool new kits including my first boat. Well, the first boat since I was a teenager. So there’s a lot coming this spring and summer and ongoing into the future! … You also asked about the brakes. I initially had a problem with the front brakes being to strong and flipping the car end over end. My recommendations are to put a very thick diff fluid in the center diff min 500K to 1 million weight. This will help solve several issues. Then adjust the mechanical brakes at the center diff (IF your kit has them) to be mostly pressure on the rear driveshaft. If your car doesn’t have the mechanical brakes, use a heavy fluid in the rear diff, try 75K - 200K and go with 1mil in the center diff, keeping the front diff lite, say 15K - 30K max. Thanks for watching. Please remember to subscribe and like. Have a Happy New Year! CJ

@@MyRCChannel-CJScott Hi CJ, thanks for getting back to me. I picked up a DollaTek programming card on Amazon, arrived packed as Surpass Hobby card. And it works, so stoked. I didn't install the mechanical brakes even though it came in the box. I will try what you suggest with the fluid weights. Drove the car first time yesterday after shimming both diffs which kept on slipping and ruined both ring gears front and back. So I added 3x0.2mm shims in the front and 2x0.2mm in the back with 1 0.2mm each moving the crown gear further out. The car itself has quite a few issues but once I am done with it I think it's going to be worth its money, a bargain after all considering. And it's a beast on 6s. Btw, are you sure this works with 8s?I thought it is 4-6s.

@@wldrr the battery limit depends on which kit you got to start. You can go up 2S from stock. My kit came with a pair of 3S batteries so stock is 6S and max is 8S. But you have to make a voltage change in the ESC. This is what I believe to be true. I haven’t tested it myself so I can’t say with complete certainty.

@@MyRCChannel-CJScott But I think 8s would be too much anyway, 6s already rips.

@@wldrr Wise decision my friend. So many people go for more more more and end up with an undrivable uncontrollable car. Also, this is a really heavy buggy that could do serious damage to a person or pet. It's important that we are responsible operators or the heavy hand of government will come down on us like it did to the drone community. I tried to warn people that flying around the tops of buildings and bridge structures may look cool, but it will give the hobby a bad name and sooner or later, the authorities will crack down... turned out it was sooner. I don't know where you live but in Canada, to fly a drone you have to get credentialled to a level almost as complex as a private pilot. You have to actually file a flight plan with any control towers within a certain distance. I'm in the US and it's not so bad here, but the FAA is definitely making things difficult for drones, helis, and planes. This is why I've been warning people who like doing "speed runs" with RC cars trying to get them to go into the triple digits. It's great when done in a proper area like a closed road or unused air strip. But, can you imagine an RC car like the DBX-07 hitting a person at speeds exceeding 100mph? What if it's a house wife jogging with her baby in a stroller? Personally, I carry an umbrella policy just in case... 5 million in addition to my home owners insurance. It's like a get out of stupid card. BTW, you might consider installing the mechanical brakes and only connecting the rear to the servo... something to experiment with. Finding the 1 million diff fluid can sometimes be hard. Huddy makes it, and if you can't find it with a US based vendor, try www.eurorc.com/ the shipping is high, but they carry a lot of stuff. Let me know if I can help! CJ

I'm guessing you're referring to the steering servo?? Yes, you can certainly use the included servo. But, if you ever experience problems with it, I recommend getting a high torque replacement. I hope you enjoy your DBX-10! BTW, I currently have 10 videos on the DBX-10... if you haven't seen them, I recommend that you watch them. I'll be doing at least one more video on the DBX-10, maybe more. Here is a link to the playlist of all the videos to date... kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH-1oYOZm9WLla8
