2022 got the same kit ,lubed up transmission chain and bearings and never had a problem before I recently upgraded to belt drive ,upgrades are essential arch mount spring loaded chain tensioner hub mount rear sprocket #41 chain , those chains supplied with kit are junk custom air cleaner & modified exhaust, there's a lot of things you can do to make them safer, more reliable, faster if desired but regular maintenance is a must ,Thanks Hughes motorized for all the great tips and videos, miles of smiles 😃 👍

I received my 4-stroke kit from eBay literally a week ago. Instead of a $194 kit with a normal chain transmission, I opted for a $218 kit whose pictures said "upgrade belt gear box". DUDE, ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!!! IT CAME WITH A 5/8" STRAIGHT SHAFT!!! The clutch bell is heavy duty metal and it has the belt drive forward gear attached to the back of the bell itself, the clutch bell is also the type that slides onto the shaft then there's a brass(?) oilite bushing into that [which needs to be lubricated in motor oil overnight btw] then a yet smaller retaining bushing with a bolt in the center of the shaft to hold it all in place. The flyweight is 82mm, not 78mm for a tapered shaft. The transmission has a THICK plate of aluminum. Allen bolts throughout, including the engine body and even the OHV cover. Okay, so I just looked for a 7G belt drive for comparison, and I could've saved myself from describing all that.... It's the exact same as in your video "How To Install 7G T-Belt Transmission on 4 Stroke Motorized Bicycle" but instead of 3 wavy cutouts in the larger wheel there are circle cutouts. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKrSY5iFmLeBp7M

Toss the chain too. I've never gotten more than about a hundred fifty miles out of those before they start coming apart. I recommend the gold 415H chain. Always worked well for me.

What type of oil/and how much oil do I need to add for my 4 stroke? And is it okay for fuel to sit in the tank if I don’t ride my bike for X amount of days or weeks?

If stored for less than 6 weeks you'll be good. Longer, I'd suggest adding Stabil. amzn.to/38F2b47 Use 30wt or 10-30 automotive oil. Ill offer you get the cheapest at the auto parts and you'll be good. These are basic, cheap motors. Change every year bare minimum or when it gets black

I have a better fix for the chain tensioner as I just got the exact same kit recently. Take the 3 bolts and 3 nuts it originally comes with. Go to your garbage can and deposit them there. Take the small outer bracket with 2 holes with you to the nearest hardware store and get Stainless Steel Bolts and nuts. The washers that come with it are fine as both the flat and locking washers work as intended.

What would be a good bicycle to mount one of these engines on without having to swap cranks, pedals, etc? Right now I have a 49cc 2 stroke on a Huffy which has caused me lots of issues mostly broken motor mount studs, and I'm at the point now where it makes more sense to get a bike that's made for this rather than trying to make it work on an old Huffy.

You have to add wider crank arms because standard pedals won't allow using a 4 stroke. If you can find a Huffy Millenial 29r or Micargi Fatal Love 29r and put heavy 26" wheels on, you'll have a good bike

hey bud can you put a belt drive transmission on the chain drive wondering I have problems with my clutch seems to burn up quick on these motors I had clutch springs break on me I took a fl as t head to space the spring out but others have said belt drive works well with clutch just didnt know you thought

ThatsDax.com used to sell a belted transmission for the tapered shaft. The engines that get the belted transmissions have a straight shaft so you cannot swap

hi! my question is very difficult. i have a standard 4 stroke engine. the problem with carburetor is phenomenal. it works only through idle circuit. when i open gas first it jumps to rpm when clutch is firmly on, also when i give gas a little it gets max rpm, i cannot open gas to full range. carb is clean, cup is filled almost to top, no air leaks. wrong diameter of main jet? when i cleaned the jets idle has diameter of about one brake cable wire, and main about twice as big. feels like too much mixture goes into engine when i open gas a little, like wrong diameter of the whole carburetor, but it's impossible. i though that adjusting diameter of main jet can make engine work towards lean/rich, but here the error is too big. the stragest thing is that I am the only person who has this problem. nothing similar can be found on forums, anywhere on the net.

@@HughesMotorized replace for the same carb? i have two of them! i cannot get carb of another model because it wont fit to the frame. in the carb there is only casing and two jets - idle and main. opening, closing choke did not make much difference; with choke closed in idle mode it stalls; through main circuit it worked more rich, more vibration and smoke.

also recently i started seeing some liquid on the spark plug, smells like gasoline, or is it oil? could it be that gasoline gets to the cylinder in liquid form, or oil gets there? also when i start the engine sometimes it smokes too much as if it's two stroke, smell is strange - like burned plastic or wax. these are my observations; they may not relate to the matter.

@@HughesMotorized i tried changing diameter of main jet. i have a spare one. first i widened it about 1.5-2 times. engine did not work; started very rich and stalled. then i soldered it, put a brake cable wire, so the diameter became 1.5-2 times smaller. engine did not start; a few turns and stalled. the question is: do the shape, height of the hole matter? when i tried to put water through it with rubber syringe, it deviated slightly on the side from the axis; when cup is filled, does gasoline fill through main jet the nozzle to the same level, or it fills only to bottom of main jet and there is a jet of gasoline through main nozzle? (in this case if my hole is not perfect and jet of gasoline does not come vertically through main nozzle then it shouldnt work).

i got mine through the post today, i only got the engine!! what the hell should i do? im not sending it back, i was lucky to even get the engine judging by the seller, i guess its possible i may get the other box of kit tomorrow. arggghh. i hav eno chance fitting this without all the it, des the 2stroke kit fit the 4stroke engine ? sure the exhaust is different.
