Initially I got me a Walther PDP 5" Full size 18+1. I was so impressed with its accuracy, smooth trigger and reliability that ended up buying a PDP 4" Compact 15+1 Law Enforcement edition. This one came with 3 magazines and XS night sights. Both of are superb modern combat handguns. Walther hit it "out of the ball park" with the PDP, just a notch above the outstanding PPQ.

The grip texture is very nice and really allows for positive control of the pistol! Not sure if you’ve ever handled other Walther handguns before but the polymer they are using now is of MUCH greater quality! Before, the grips almost felt like a toy gun or something. I never liked them.

Walther pdp is the latest modern design 9mm striker fired pistol, matching up glock 45, as well as canik mete. What should I say. But I’m looking forward to get one of this achtung baby someday and add it to my glocks and my other pistols. I’m so impressed especially with the deep serrations, that makes it more easier to rack the slide. Overall advantages, is the design, it’s german -made material, high mag capacity, and reliability in any situation, for protection/training.👍

This wasn’t a personal purchase. It was sold in about 3 days after making the video. However, if I was to buy one, I would get this version. The gun is too thick, in my opinion, to carry comfortably and call it a “compact” but shortening the grip/barrel/slide. I carry appendix or some call it midline. If I were to buy this gun it would be either as a duty/open carry, range gun, or nightstand gun.

Just recently purchased the PDP and I'm very happy with it. But I was greatly dismayed with the so-called "free Optic Plate" offer. I ordered the Optic Plate through the Walther site for a SightMark Mini Shot M-Spec Red Dot Sight. Walther recommended the comparable plate from Doctor/Noblex. I received the plate in a plain envelope, unwrapped, no instructions, no screws, nothing just a metal plate. The plate didn't match the SightMark. I wrote to Walther and this was their reply, "That optic will not mount to one of our plates. You will need a custom milled plate from C&H Precision". Wasn't happy. Hopefully I'll have good luck with the PDP.

@GunBoxTherapy3 жыл бұрын
I would. Strictly for the upgrade in grip texture. The PPQ grip just feels like low quality plastic.
@v.german11b3 жыл бұрын
My opinion: the PPQ is not a lesser handgun. The PPQ is as good as the PDP. If you like the cosmetic changes of the PDP, go for it. However, again, you don't have an "inferior" gun on the PPQ. The improvements are mostly on appearance. By the way, I bought a PDP full size 5 inch-barrel. But I didn't own a PPQ 😉
@AustenFan873 жыл бұрын
There have been multiple reviewers who go back and forth on if you should sell your PPQ. Many say similar to German, it is not an inferior weapon so if you like it keep both. I am planning to sell my PPQ SC once I get my PDP Compact simply because I don't have a dominant eye and I want an optic ready firearm.
@v.german11b3 жыл бұрын
@@AustenFan87 Indeed. The PDP is a superb modern combat handgun, it is virtually flawless. I got me one full size 5" barrel 18+1, and it is so amazingly good that induced me to buy a PDP compact 4" barrel 15+1. But the bottom line is this: those who own a PPQ are already are well served with a highly reliable, accurate Walther pistol, with a second to none trigger pull. Both models are outstanding!
@rt13263 жыл бұрын
I kept my ppq and sold the pdp compact. They are both very similar, but I preferred the ppq in that size. Decided to look for the full size pdp for some variety. The ppq is also discontinuing, love its design and will be harder to find in the future.

I think this has something to do with the compatibility with PPQ magazines. They all accept the same ones. Of course though, their was only the PPQ sub-compact which was much smaller than the PDP compact. This leads me to think that the magazines you have for your PDP compact are a newer design but same fit.

The Glock style trigger dingus is really there as a drop safety. Without that mechanism the force of dropping the gun with the butt facing downward would otherwise sometimes actuate the trigger from momentum. Btw, what's the point of an unboxing without working the trigger? At least do a couple dry fires and talk about the reset/trigger feel. Don't be a tease!
@GunBoxTherapy3 жыл бұрын
lol. I’ve considered starting to do trigger tests on the guns I unbox but sometimes it’s hard to think of the correct description of how they fell or what to compare it to I guess. Thanks for the suggestion though! I hope you stick around and subscribe.
