What an amazing video of yours 😍😍 I'm a beginner on the flute and I admire you so much! Could you please tell me if you knew if it would be possible to only get 1 pedal for reverb (for this echo effect that you do as of 0:26 in the melody?) I can't afford to buy the whole equipment at once, but to begin with I would love to be able to have just one pedal for that kind of echo and that's it to begin with

I recommend the BOSS VE-20 Pedal. It really works well with the flute since it’s designed to be used with a mic. It has several effects and a looper built in, so it is a good value.

Melissa, how can I learn to play in this style?! I love it when people take flute out of the traditional, classic style and apply it to different styles of music, but I don't even know where to start!

Hey Melissa, great video! I have a question, I have a very similar set up, and I just don’t feel like I can get my sound loud enough. If I’m playing with a backing track or something like that, I feel like the track is what comes thru the most & the flute sound is sort of there in the background, not to mention the fx as well. Turning the flute channel up seems to be pretty tenuous because it will easily cause feedback. I’ve also tried using an internal mic & a tube amp, & that really presents a lot of feedback issues, especially when using fx like distortion. Do you have any suggestions about how to increase the flute volume so it’s more easily heard without encountering all the feedback? Thanks!

Hi chrissie, thanks for your comment. A few things... 1) I had the same issue when I was using an electric guitar amp. Switching to a mixer/PA system setup really helped alleviate this for me. 2) Try not to stand too close or right in front of the speaker. 3) Keep the distortion turned low. Hope this helps!
