That long single take in the first scene is absolutely gorgeous.

I don't know how they did that scene where David's carrying Audrey up the stairs, but I like how they made her look as if she weighed no more than a feather to him. And judging how his character is really strong in this movie, it fit the concept of a powerful superhero perfectly in a visual way.

This film is perfection

Notice how the camera starts moving in on them once David say's "That's not part of the game.", signaling the end of a surface level conversation, towards something more personal and intimate. Even after 20 years this still feels fresh and dynamic.

In an already pretty quiet movie, these scenes are the quietest, and the best. And another commentor mentioned how easy it is for David to carry Audrey, I never noticed that detail

What a well directed, written, and acted scene. Seriously, what the hell happened to M. Night.

Know this is a late comment, but I feel like m was corrupted by his own success. He pumped out great movies like this, sixth sense, that Mel Gibson one(forgot name lol) and than decided that his ideas were always genius. I imagine he does not take constructive criticism very well or there is no way the glass movie would have ended so poopoo. Makes unbreakable, my favorite movie a bit harder to watch knowing how it all ends.

There are some answers I don't think I'll get in Glass tonight.

"Something doesn't feel right", is David sensing the rise of a super villain?
@LacoSinfonia3 жыл бұрын
I always interpreted it as him sensing somewhere deep within himself that he isn’t fulfilling his purpose.
@daustin88883 жыл бұрын
@@LacoSinfonia Yep. In Joseph Campbell's thesis of The Hero's Journey, all heroes receive a call to action that awakens their resolve called, you guessed it, "The Call". For Davif Dunn this hasn't happened. Simply because he exists in *our* world and there supposedly isn't any need for heroes in colorful costumes. That is until Elijah Price summons the superhero by turning himself into a superhero. Truly some deep stuff.

A lot of people on YT are misinterpreting these Unbreakable scenes. Shayamalans early films aren't self accepting shlock (and I say that with love). Unbreakable isnt like Glass. It's meant to have thematic depth like Signs and The Sixth Sense. In the film superpower is a metaphor for remembering your purpose and finding your vocation despite narcissistic "mediocre times".

Does any one know The name and where is this restaurant?

This is not really a restaurant. It is the lobby of the Curtis Center building in Philadelphia. (My eye doctor's office is located there so I recognize it) It is a stunning glass mosaic designed by artist Maxfield Parrish and produced by Louis Tiffany.
