Yep. It was meant to “de-saturate” the color from the shoe. Strip away the red and you get a black/white/grey type image.

Break l, I believe the concept was to strip away the color. De-saturate the color and you get a grey type shoe. I don’t believe it was supposed to be a shadow color way, but no color way at all 🤷🏽‍♂️

The shadow colorway had to do with the fact that the original advertisement with the picture of Michael Jordan was in black and white the way it is on the paper that came with the rebellionaires. At least that’s what I believe was explained to me

This is EXACTLY why they are muted in color. It’s to mimic the original commercial that was done in blk & white with only color being the red on the shoes, Which is what the red x ❌ on the back represents. They got it 100% right

I think they made the Rebellionaires the color they did to make it look like it didn’t have color and not really meant to look like the shadow color way. Like black and white TV but left the X red in color. It’s the Bred pattern but in black in white. I could be wrong but the more I look at the shoe in hand that’s the vibe it gives me.

I think you're too concentrated on that box. It's a coloring book box bc it's for kids. The shoe isn't better than the Rebellionaires in my opinion. It's not a shadow color way bc the writing on the shoe makes it it's own color way.
