I can honestly say that this is something that I didn’t know that I needed in my life. I got up this morning had a little go and all of a sudden the competitiveness kicks in, I used to just throw 1000 credits in and play aimlessly now I’m trying my hardest with that 1 credit lol.

This is great! Is there anyway to add under 'Arrange By' for MAME (in lauchbox) a section for 'Trending Games' or something similar? Maybe scrape a list from metacritic?! Got the question of the day: I use fbneo instead of mame, because of its retroachievements integration. Will it work with this core as well?

Unfortunately not, it's MAME only. It is hooking into things that are part of MAME itself.

I guess the new update is also to improve start up times. After updating Launch Box on both of my game cabinets. The one game cabinet won't allow the start up video to finish and goes right to Arcade platform. ANY CLUE WHY? I would appreciate any advice . THANKS

I couldn't get the hiscore tables to show in the game details on the right without changing to the default launchbox theme.

Okay got it working. Just incase it helps someone else, if you have everything set up correctly and it's not working, In Launchbox log out of your games DB account and log back in. Looks like if you haven't played for a while you get timed out and launching BigBox does not automatically sign you in.

It's a pity that sharing High Score only works with mom and not all games, I strongly believe that someday it will be possible to share your records at least in all Arcade games, which is slowly becoming real thanks to you. And now a little wet dream: in general, as if there was a real time server that would automatically update player records, which could additionally be thrown, for example, on another monitor screen, tv in their caves, something similar to FightCade ew: as in one of the largest salons in the world Galoping Ghost Arcade but such a dream is very hard to realize or rather unrealistic to combine all the results of players from all emu games for 1 server in real time; ( More real and time-consuming and, most importantly, costly to create an application with a list of blows to fighting games (strange that no one has created such an application, for example by a fundraiser), I am sure that there would be a lot of people like me who would willingly support the project of such an application. Maybe it's worth trying, maybe someone would undertake the creation of such an application + if it was added to Launchbox, it would be something amazing (but not necessarily) So far, the best option is bezel Instruction cards similar to those from Hs, which also would not be a stupid idea to add to Launchbox (although you can put your own) I do not know if there is such a possibility as you say ;)

this is actually GREAT! arcades are competition, this is the way most arcades should be played... and that brings the question, despite cheats, if you use multiple credits or savestates, the highscore doesn't upload, right? Please, find a way to properly integrate fightcade into Launchbox at some point, it would be awesome.

Thats correct, save states and cheats HAVE to be off otherwise the score will not upload.

ETA Prime, are you by any chance using the LBPlex theme in this video? I'm not able to display the high scores on the right side of the program while in LaunchBox if I use that particular theme

Custom themes will need to be updated with the new code in order to view the high scores in the game details. However, you can still right click on games and view high scores that way without the theme update. The theme update should be easy, so hopefully theme developers will update their themes.

Unfortunately not, there are technical reasons why we cant do it for Retroarch. MAME standalone supports bezels and shaders though.

There is a plugin available on the forums that will show local high scores. These new high scores features are primarily just for sharing with the community.

Is there a minimum score you need to get in order to post your score? I tried a Hiscore friendly game and got 1500 more points than the 1 person who was on the weekly board. It didn't get posted. Is the server dead or something?

I tried this with retroarch using mame libretro and it dosent work...I tried using mame stand alone mame 64 without retro arch and it worked fine. Shame as it means now changing my setup.

no catch, you just need to be signed into the Launchbox database and enable the feature, as explained in the video.

The best thing to do if you're having trouble is to enable Debug Logging under Tools > Options > Debugging. Then you can share the logs on the forums and we can help you figure out what's going on.

Most games will reset your score when you continue. As for actually limiting it in a game, i doubt any support that, i mean why would a arcade owner want to artificially limit there income?

Yes, most games won't allow continues to affect high scores. There are a few that do though. Those games I guess will just be for the marathoners. ;)
