Why not at end of season have top 5 of each conference play against each other in tourney setting. Number 1 play against number 1 and 2 against 2 and so on. That way at end you can give not only a national championship but a conference national title. Number 1s play for conference and national title while rest of conferences competes against other conferences to win national conference title.
