I'm starting to believe this is a result of the Steelers draft approach.... Steelers love to grab talented value picks and since they don't draft early for wide receivers the wide receivers that fall typically have off field issues. I can't think of another team that has this specific of an issue at one particular position like this.

Oh yea that’s exactly what we do and it usually works out because either they are too out of control and we get what we could out of their rookie contract. Or they turn around that narrative and we resign then but this hasn’t happened since ab before he lost his damn mind. Look at old ab interviews and you’ll see the difference between him in year 5 and year 9

On that last drive Pickens ran a route that I’ve never seen. It started with an inside step like it was almost a 9. But then he rounds it out and turns it into either a corner or a weird square out. The crazy part is he beat the coverage and went untouched. But he then doesn’t get his eyes on the ball. He looked lost. He slowed down as well. But how Russ threw the ball youd think it was a square out. Pickens looks like he doesn’t know the route tree or the playbook at all. So much talent. Very little discipline and it hurts to see that. Not to drag him through the mud but it’s just sad to see someone with that ability not cherish that.
@evang6339Күн бұрын
It was an out n up. The corner was sittin outside so he cut it up early. If Russ throw that ball 2-3 yards inside that’s 6
@lebrandon6555Күн бұрын
@ it wasn’t an out n up bc he started inside. He took a step inside and ran what looked like a go then he cuts inside but again it wasn’t a real cut. It was rounded off as if he didn’t know what he was doing. I played safety and if we were in cover 2 we’d call an out n up a wheel and look to the outside receiver for the deep threat. In this case the outside guy was the under route in the high low concept. Pickens was the deep threat. He only went outward at the end of the route so it can’t be that

Unc is right. Seeing Pickens give up on a route vs KC a yard or two from the LOS that allowed KC Safety Reid to cheat the other way and pick off a potential TD pass in the endzone set my opinion of him as a loser in stone. Worthy is a little tiny dude that DBs can sometimes put on the ground at the LOS but he doesn't quit the way Pickens does. Pickens has all the physical tools, loads of talent, but none of the intangibles. And Ocho talking about Cousins in comparison is silly. Cousins may or may not be worth what he gets paid, but he doesn't quit. Pickens isn't in it for the team, Pickens is in it for Pickens alone. Pickens wants to win, but he wants to win easy. There is no way to win easy in the NFL.
@jasonyeager822Күн бұрын
To be clear, I love Ocho. I get he wants to support talented young WRs. But Ocho was a winner (and I hated him when he was playing because of it - haha). Pickens needs someone to convince him that catching the ball isn't the only way he helps his team win. And if Pickens played winning football all the time, he'd catch a lot of footballs, for a lot of yards and a lot of TDs.
