If u guys don’t know what uncanny valley is, heres an explanation: The uncanny valley is a term used to describe the relationship between the human-like appearance of a robotic object and the emotional response it evokes. In this phenomenon, people feel a sense of unease or even revulsion in response to humanoid robots that are highly realistic. Hope that helps:)

It’s not just robots it’s anything that looks too human but not quite right that gives us this response. Creepy to know it’s hardwired into us through evolution which makes you wonder what our ancestors saw to burn this into human genetics

It doesn't necessarily have to be a robot. The uncanny valley is centered around human likeness, whether that be robotic, CGI, hyper realistic animations, etc. It's a spectrum where there's clear human likeness on one side and humanlike characteristics on something that is obviously fictional on the other. The uncanny valley is that dip between the two where something has some human features, but they're off and not quite right, which can be uncomfy

@@sugurusnumberonefan__ it’s this philosophical/psychological theory about robots and the reason we find some humanoid ai robots so creepy. for example, the more human a robot looks, the more empathetic you are towards it until it gets too human looking. for example, cartoon characters like mr. incredible and that creepy mannequin tara that went viral. the reason we are uncomfortable with these is because of our human instincts, our fear of out mortality, our fear of being replaced, our fear of disease etc. i found this in a wikipedia article incase i did a bad job at explaining
