I fully agree with how annoying it is when the only thing people take away from normal people is the romance, when there's so so so much more to the story then just that. I love this. I miss your bookish videos so much. I wish you would unprivatize your book videos; they’re so good. You’re so inciteful and funny, and I loved hearing your thoughts on what you read. I’m sorry to hear that you felt like you *had* to read and talk about books in a specific way, but I think you can still talk about books, even if it doesn’t look or sound like other booktubers. Some booktube video genre I enjoy is: • Doing an end-of-the-month wrap up of what they read • A video about their TBR • Discussion of most-anticipated books coming out • Books you DNFed and why Obviously you’re under no obligation, but I think you could definitely do book videos without doing booktube genres that aren’t fun, like reading all of one author’s books, eviscerating a popular book, trying to read X number of books in Y amount of time, etc.

On Ginsberg, it’s beat poetry. Beat poetry is meant to be performed. The way it is spoken adds a lot of its ingenuity if that makes any sense. I would at least give it a chance with the written piece in front of you and see how it transforms. It makes a world of difference.

highly highly HIGHLY recommending emma by jane austen as your next read of hers. as a person who loves the comedy of her works (and thinks it’s a very underrated aspect of them), i would say emma is by far her funniest book and it satirises aspects/characters of her other works. while writing the novel austen called emma woodhouse “a heroine whom no one but myself will much like.” (she is very unlikeable and she’s my favourite austen heroine because of it) and from one conversations with friends enthusiast to another, i think you will love emma.

Everyone has read a Shakespeare in their life, but nobody keeps reading plays outside of school, not to mention how the incredible world of contemporary plays is totally ignored. So THANK YOU as someone who studied history of theatre at uni and considers it her favorite literary genre. I recommend you all to read Table by Tanya Ronder as it's a play about...a table. Through six generations. I swear, it's amazing and so original. And if you want some thrilling queer read, go for Tom at the farm by Michel Marc Bouchard, thank me later.
