One song by the hard rock group "BLOODROCK" is a song called "D. O. A." ( 1970 ) that some radio stations refused to play because of its graphic and macabre description of a man who initially survives a plane crash but dies on the way to the hospital . The album version is over eight minutes long and features real siren sounds .

49 years ago, "Fight The Power" by The Isley Brothers should be on this list; because of the word 'Bullshit' was said the first time by a major R&B group: and don't forget Pink Floyd's "Money"-'Bullshit', censored then, gets played on Rock & Roll radio stations today!!
@MetFan372 ай бұрын
No it doesn't - they've gone back to playing the "bull-blank" version of "Money" on most radio stations. And the word was justified in "Fight the Power" because the Isleys were exhorting the public to "fight the powers that be", it just couldn't be played that way on the radio - that's always been a "bull-blank" since the 45 was edited by the record company. But it was the Isleys' biggest pop hit.

I know, you are so right. Back in the 70's we took stuff in stride more than today. People today are too thin skinned. If you really listen to the words of Island Girl, it's about a guy from the islands trying to get the girl to go back home. The lyrics, "He want to take you from da racket boss. He wants to save you..." really should be seen as what the song is about.

Lou Reed's former band mate in The Velvet Underground John Cale released his Helen Of Troy lp in 1975, including the song Leaving It Up To You. It was released in the UK and Europe, but in the US the song was replaced with Coral Moon, due to the reference to Charles Manson with the lyrics: 'And it's sordid how life goes on When I could take you apart And if you give me half a chance I'd do it now, right now you facist I know we could all be safe like Sharon Tate And we could give it all up, give it all up Leaving it, leaving it, leaving it up to you...'.

Strange thing about the use of the censors not wanting song like these, but they themselves make a WAP song number 1 and think nothing of it.

There is a line on the LOU REED song "WALK ON THE WILD SIDE" that has the lyric "and she never lost her head even while she was giving head" . This is a reference of oral sex on a male .

What are you talking about? There are no songs or song writers from the 70's who can compare with the degenerates of today. Cardi B WAP! Anything from most rappers. Most top 40 pop or country. It's all promiscuity, drugs and alcohol abuse. It's all pure garbage today.
