This man practices his art in a country in which there is active warfare going on. Not a "war on terror", we're talking a war on communist rebels, Islamic Extremists and the Peoples Republic of China. It's guys like this that fought the Japanese occupation during WWII and put a stop to the death marches. Also, to all those people saying all you need are guns, gun's jam, they run out of ammunition, and they're useless in close quarters. That's why every armed force on earth still teaches HTH.

too good to be true in performing knife attack. in the real world especially on the streets, those catching of bladed weapon or a gun doesn’t work that way.

It is necessary to understand that these arts are just as practical now as they were in the past. The mechanics are the same. The techniques are the same. The method is still dangerous. Peoples anatomies haven't changed. All that's changed is the popularity of the weapon. Nowadays pistols and guns are preferred. While many can dismiss all weapons in favor of a pistol or gun, never forget an often overlooked aspect of combat: circumstance.

This looks good and is scripted for training purposes. In a realistic situation it most likely would not work as the unknown attacker is unpredictable. Improvise, adapt and overcome!

It pretty much works it's even used in military
@jestfullgremblim80022 жыл бұрын
@@nhenvie3557 Everything depends on the way you train. Taekwondo and Krav Maga (both of which are usually labeled as useless or bad martial arts by the martial arts community) have also been used by the military. The techniques showcased in this video can definitely work, you just have to train properly. And like the commenter said, you gotta be ready to adapt because you will probably not know for sure how your opponent is going to attack you

@ARTBUS1 Actually... Ferdinand Magellan died in the Battle of Mactan because he made a serious TACTICAL ERROR - He and 49 of his conquistadors decided they will fight on the beach while wearing plate armor and use muskets that are pretty much useless when the gunpowder got wet... againts hundreds of charging native warriors who are clearly familiar with the terrain 'cause it's their home turf.

@s3ksee - Correct. They had a misplaced confidence on their weapons and skills thats why they thought they can overcome Lapu Lapu and his men. They also made a mistake on underestimating the fighting skills of Lapu lapu and his men. The Datu of Cebu offered his men on the service of Magellan but was refused.

Thanks. I was commenting here that guns will beat knives. But if the knife wielder is too close, then it will nullify the gun. Experts stated that you need to be at least 20 feet away. I carry a 22 TCM Single Action. But I also carry a knife when things get a little hairy. I encountered a drugged crazed man wielding a bolo. Hacked my dog. I used to have a Glock. He came at me and I fired 3 shots at him. Didn't even slow him down. I had to use the gun like a club while grappling with him.

@ozzie4uk -> its a not question whether your crazy or not. Its a question of what will you do and what do you know when you are confronted with an attacker with a knife? Without any skills such a taught here you will still try to defend yourself. Ergo its better to know how to do it properly than trying to defend yourself with just pure instinct. The daughter of GM Tortal was assaulted with a knife she is still alive to tell the story. No doubt because of this knowledge.

Plenty of guns in the Phillipines. Your point isn't actually as sound as you think it is, and I'd explain about tactical shooting versus a knife and why it's trickier than you think, but I have a feeling you're not going to listen anyway.

Dont mind him at all, he says stuff like "at least from where I come from" and is from Germany, at least thats what his Profile tells me. Germany is in middle europe and one of the safest countries in the world. Nevertheless a knife can be a tactical wappon and is used bye all armies of the world, allways count on the trained fighter no matter what wappon they use. Know how to fight against and with a gun, knife and unarmed is the real way.

LOL, you do know the Philippines has an abundance in guns? Do you know we make our own guns in illegal factories? Perhaps you're not so educated in our culture as you may think. You could even google if you want. Type gun control, knife murder rates etc. We are a warrior culture and even tho you might train for fun, we train for life. I pity your ignorance with your comments.
