Bravo!!!, in my search for recovering my voice fully (after been ill and darkening too much for 5 years!!!) I founded the videos of maestro Luciano Pavarotti like a inspiring ligthed road. he does exactly, while singing, what I feel natural (he attacks from high in the upper paladar," bitting the sound" as he ussed to say in his master classes...all with a superb air appogio from the diaphragmatic zone). His voice is so round and beautiful, that I know I won't be able to compare myself, but he really inspires me a lot!!!. Thank you so much for sharing this divine materila (James Levine is a so telented pianist and conductor, that makes the perfect musical match for Luciano Pavarotti).BRAVOOO!!!!!!!!

@arpeggio1358 I agree that one just has to get used to CT sound before dismissing them all as "girls". Of course, it's everybody's right "to listen to a chick sing", but it doesn't mean that if many people just don't have sensitive enough ears to hear the difference between a MALE and FEMALE singing CTs really sing like girls. The majority of all people just don't know that CTs exist and when they hear them by chance they feel only SUPERCIAL similarity with a female voice! Can be PREJUDICE too!

@chrissy1095 CREEPY?! There's nothing more beautiful in the world of singing when a great COUNTERTENOR sings Dolente imagine! Pavarotti is a good tenor, but not the greatest IMO. He was only the most promoted! That's it! He has no chance in comparison with such great tenors of different times as Gigli, Wunderlich, Gedda, Corelli. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty of singing is in the ear of the listener. But your prejudice against CTs doesn't allow your to HEAR such heavenly BEAUTY!

True, serious CTs and not just falsettists singing classical stuff in pop style like this fake Philippe Jaroussky and whose promoters present it as true baroque, early classicism, etc. don't sound like "girls". You describe like that only PJ and his imitators. And we talk about classical stuff now. REAL CTs produce high heavenly sounds but sing MANLY! It's a DIFFERENT COLOUR and QUALITY! Your ears aren't good.

@arpeggio1358 It's really sad. All voice categories should have respect they deserve. People should judge only artists and not discriminate men as "girls". It's just unfair! Countertenor singing is not for all people as they are not advertised by all media as all traditional voices like Pavarotti. He is good, classically trained tenor. I have nothing against him. People can prefer him, but this arrogance and discrimination of a different voice category that bothers me! CTs don't sound like girls

@arpeggio1358 I agree. And also agree that Podles and Marilyn Horne are great contraltos even if not everybody likes them. But it's wrong to say that all female contraltos are bad as they sound like men. They don't sound like men. Only those who artificially try to sound like men forcing ugly low notes and make awful grimaces "a la man" like mezzos Bartoli or Kazarova... It's really unnatural and very sad...

It's good. Otherwise it would be very boring if everybody liked the same! But it doesn't mean that you should be so arrogant and insult CTs if your ears are not sensitive enough to CATCH that different COLOUR of CT voice which is not FEMININE at all. Pavarotti sounds MANLY as TENOR. REAL CTs are MANLY too

@chrissy1095 Real countertenors sound MANLY, MASCULINE no matter how high they sing. If you can't hear it now it means that your ears are not trained enough yet. If you listen more perhaps eventially you'll hear the difference... But my advice, don't listen to such fakes as Philippe Jaroussky who deliberately imitate a woman, or a teenager, or "an angel" not to spoil your taste in music consuming only primitive POP STUFF and nothing else...
