This song by Paul and Linda McCartney from the album Ram. Released in the United States as a single on 2 August 1971, it reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on 4 September 1971, making it the first of a string of post-Beatles, Paul McCartney-penned singles to top the US pop chart during the 1970s and 1980s. Billboard ranked the song as number 22 on its Top Pop Singles of 1971 year-end chart. It became McCartney's first gold record after the break up of the Beatles.

Underrated until everyone started to re-analyze Paul McCartney music. Never underrated in my ears. But I know what you're saying it wasn't fans it was critics they really beat up on through the 70s. Unfortunately Jon said some pretty horrible things and like Paul said it's stuck to the wall. There's just no taking some of those things back sadly

I became acquainted with rock music only in my first year of university thanks to my former friend, who had LPs that his father brought him from business trips abroad. He also showed me where in those days I could buy these records for an expensive price on the “black” market. The country was the uSSr and in stores you could buy only potatoes, onions and bread. Now I have a CD collection of about 3000 different music. The album RAM is an outstanding work by Sir Paul, although I listen to it less and less - I don’t have time to listen to everything Good luck everyone 🇺🇦

WE'RE NOT SORRY UNCLE RUFUS BUT WE HAVEN'T DONE A BLOODY THING ALL DAY...THE COFFEE POT IS ON THE BOIL AND WE'RE SO EASILY CALLED AWAY(this song is ESPECIALLY FUN TO SING LOUD AND OUT OF TUNE when you've been deep in your cups)😊😊😊😊😊

This track sounded like something that would have fit snugly in the Magical Mystery Tour tracklist. Too bad Paul basically made the whole record by himself. Ringo, John and George weren’t there and were actually too busy flinging shit at Paul to collaborate with him. But the dreamscape is nice. Wish Linda had been in it too, because she’s the only other person who consistently worked on Ram.
