Uncle Bud's is actually in Donelson, which is Nashville not Hermitage. Hermitage is about 8 minutes down the road.

I had catfish for the first time years ago in Mississippi in an authentic Southern-style restaurant. Wasn't sure I would like it but... WOW, catfish is go-o-o-o-o-d!!! I also tried gator in a seafood restaurant. Not bad, tasted like... chicken! :-) If ever I get to Hermitage, TN, I'm heading to Uncle Bud's Catfish Shack!

Don't be fooled when they say the catfish is caught in Alabama. That is farm raised catfish. They do not do wild caught catfish

wow; some of the food you taste looks a little rough but this is really good. wow; they cook it perfectly without oily issues. This had my mouth watering. clean oil and good heat is what that's about. nice!

Don't mean to step on your toes but, Uncle Buds is in Donelson ~ not Hermitage. LOL 🤪🤪🤪

Just subscribed to your channel. I found this channel when you were reviewing crappy pizza joints in California. And now I find all these reviews of places in my old stomping grounds in Middle TN. Used to eat at Uncle Bud's in high school in the 1980s. Glad to know it is still as good as I remember, maybe better. Have you reviewed Mary's BBQ in downtown Nashville? My family used to eat there as far back as the 1970's, and I recently found out from a magazine article that it is still around with Mary's granddaughter now running the place. I remember a pulled pork sandwich on corn cakes. Unbelievably good. Keep up the good work!

Jack, you must try Martin's BBQ joint in Nolensville just south of Nashville. Trust me. Also, a good place in Nashville is called The Copper Kettle.

I always hesitate to order catfish because I've had some that was so fishy tasting I could barely eat it. I've also had some I love. If I knew of a place like this that had fresh, sweet catfish all the time I would be so happy. Thanks, Jack! Always love seeing the whole family out together with new friends.
@jackonthego9 жыл бұрын
cjucoder wasn't fishy at all. If fish is fishy I don't eat it. It means it's either old or not cleaned properly. Fishy taste is a warning.

If you go back you have to try the creole sauce! It is amazing. I always tried to recommend to guests who were kind of trying out the restraunt when I worked there. It goes well with the catfish, hushpuppies, and what it is suggested with, the shrimp. Its basically a spicier tarter sauce.But I swear it will take your experience to the next level!Also, the bannana puddin.... you have to next time!!! Haha

I go to that exact location when I feel like some fried chicken, my family has been eating there for years and next time you go try putting some hot sauce in the beans, it adds the perfect spice!
