I learned from stylists at Black Girl Curls to saturate the hair with water, then add lots of uncle funky's curl gel to hair based on density and then use a topper such as a mousse/foam. I use AG Cloud foam as the topper. It makes a huge difference in the outcome of the hair. Thanks for sharing your experience via youtube.

I love UFD Curly Magic! I used to think CRN Curl Maker was my favorite until I tried this. I have type 4 hair, so I apply products on soaking wet hair and I’ve never gotten flakes. I recently started layering this gel on top of Deva Curls Super Stretch Coconut Curl Elongator & omg! Crazy definition, shine and hold! Your results are fantastic!

Yesss Curly Magic has been my holy grail 2.5 years strong. I was too afraid to combine the 2 products last night, but im glad you mentioned it now I will try it. How do you usually apply? I lose the volume with the gel most times which I don't mind, but I end up choosing mousse when I want more voluminous hair than definition.

CurlyTuTimez I apply a leave in first. That might not be necessary, but I like to have a good moisture barrier under any gel. I then apply the coconut Curl Elongator. I don’t use a lot. And finally the UFD Curly magic. I tried the Curl Elongator as a one product wash and go and it was only okay. Pairing it with the gel was a revelation! If you try it, let me know how it goes for you.

This is hands down my favorite hair gel. 10 years of being natural I regret not trying this product much sooner. I love that it's aloe based and has no glycerin. I wash, condition and use this gel as my only styler. Nothing else is needed.. It's amazing!

You should try it in combo with Uncle funky's good hair cream. EXCELLENT COMBO! CRN does not give me as good as of a result. And i use less of this than when i use CRN. Also this is a product that can be used all year round.

CoilyCurls79 I find it to provide lasting moisture on its own right now but I may give it a try with a leave in/cream once it gets colder. I’ll have to compare it to my Curl Maker cause I’m not sure that I’d prefer the Curly Magic over it lol

This is my absolute favorite gel. The best way to apply it is on soaking wet hair and I rub the product in my hand until it emulsifies and then apply it. It’s AMAZING!!! It gives me hold and movement. Theeee best gel ever.

I tried it yesterday, on freshly washed hair, and I love how it does not leave a crunch. My hair has movement . I was skeptical at first. I didn't like the sticky feeling, while it was drying, but it went away, once dried. Btw, I did use a cream leave in.

I tried it once, but ended up returning it because my hair dried sticky; I did use a leave in though. I couldn't stand the smell either. It smelled like Pine Sol to me😷. Your hair looks so good maybe I'll try again with no leave-in.😍

Yes you have to use it on soaking wet hair to avoid it being sticky.

Just a suggestion: I’m glycerin sensitive and it does that same frizzy thing to my hair and it gets worse. So maybe it’s an ingredient that caused it? I know the CRN has similar ingredients. Just something to think about 😁

Jeannee Britton I know Uncle Funky’s Curly Magic is glycerin free so I’m not sure. It was only like that when it was wet & didn’t get worse when it dried so it didn’t bother me. The only things glycerin typically does to my hair is it can make it feel overly moisturized if it’s in the top ingredients of a product, and it causes major shrinkage when faced with humidity lol

If your hair is collarbone length or longer, you can probably put it in a pineapple with scrunchies or a scarf (look it up on YT) . If it's shorter you can try putting big loose twists in it (like 6 to 10). If it's above the top of your ear, get a curl refresher spray or just some water and rewet it.

M.D Curlz The product you used most likely didnt mesh well with the gel. Even though it's from the same line, I learned, it doesnt really mean they mesh well together. I had the issue using camille rose lotion with the gel but the gel paired with mane choice leave in is pretty good. Next time rub the two products in your hands before applying it to your hair so that you will know if the products work well together.

@@Chin715 you're welcome at the end of the day its a personal preference.its gel its supposed to have a cast it helps reduce frizz and can lock in moisture (depending on product) but some people prefer the fluffy look and soft curls

J Wms I recently started using a box fan to speed up my air drying process lol so this wash & go was about 95% dry in 1.5-2 hours 🙌🏾 regularly, it can take up to a whole day cause my roots take forever to dry
