The problem with British chefs, cones down to two things, most of the TV chefs are home cooks who were never professionally trained and they use flavours they are used to rather than the traditional ones
@OrbObserver Жыл бұрын
And the ones who are decent like Gordon Ramsay trained in France, not the UK.

There's nothing wrong with it. Uncle Roger is good for the comedic value but their is no reason to be frustrated over petty things. Authenticity is also kinda over used term considering how much these cuisines endup adjusting to local tastes, even in their home countries different regions have different flavor profiles and 1 dish can have multiple "authenticities".

@@rarevisionog Petty things like making a dish completely wrong, using the wrong ingredients and wrong techniques? From people literally getting paid to teach people wrong? C'mon bro.
@rarevisionog Жыл бұрын
@@OrbObserver yup it is petty. Same named dish can be found in variations world wide each favored by those who make them

@@rarevisionog I don't think you get to say that about another cultures food. Pretty sure just taking someone's traditions and just doing whatever you want with them without respecting them is literally cultural appropriation. I can make any pile of garbage I want and call it anything I want, doesn't make it true or respectful of the food, traditions and people. Pettiness is not asking people to put thought and consideration into what they do. Or how about just this situation where Nigella used one kind of noodle while insisting it was another, and completely destroying something intended to be hand held food into a soggy mess? Do you really think that was intentional?

I love Uncle Roger. I needed a good, funny pick me up. Thanks, Chad and Nikki

And I'm with Nikki. I made the oversoaking mistakes the first time, too. It tore and rolled and was awful. I got the hang of it pretty quick, and Uncle Roger would have been proud. And yeah, where tf are the shrimp or carrots or even fucking lettuce? Anything to add substance to that flaccid crap.

Epic Meal Time and Regular Ordinary Swedish Meal Time were the food channels I watched before finding Food Wishes, Townsends, and stuff like that.

I have no experience with summer rolls, but I've made plenty of spring rolls, which are basically similar, and I ended up cringing so bad after watching this.

Leave it to a british chef to fuck up any food. The maximum requirement to become a chef in England is to know how to put some beans on bread 🤣

You say that and yet British chefs rule the global culinary industry.

@@maozedong8370 What's entertaining though is that most of them weren't even trained in the UK... LOL, most of the big names were trained in France.
