my husband got stung a few times just recently, ground wasp nest. he had no clue it was even there. he went to trim some bushes on the side of our house and they attacked him. he came running in the house yelling, bee's! bee's! im hit, lol, i have to admit it was funny at first when i heard him say that but i felt bad afterwards because he had welts on his arms, hands and his neck. he said they were stinging him as he ran away and could only feel the pain of the stings, he never even saw a bee, just felt them. evil little suckers for sure.

Me and my son was fishing and we were standing on a headland and he walked on a hornets nest and he was jumping and said mom turn your head he butt naked jumping around I laughed and laughed even tho he was stung multiple times.

It''s not that they won't sting at night, they're just less active. We had some honey bees that set up shop on an old bird feeder we had and when a beekeeper came to get them at dark, he never got stung. They only sting when they feel threatened because they die. Now yellow hornets and yellow jackets are spawns of the devil.

My mother grew up on a tobacco farm. She always kept cigarettes in the fridge just for bee stings. A tobacco poultice really works. There is nothing more evil than hornets, especially ground hornets. I got stung through my shoe while berry picking. It was sore for a week.

I was thinking Uncle Si's face looked like he had gotten hurt, but I wasn't sure until he mentioned what happened. I'm glad he's okay. That's scared me for a minute there. Uncle Si tells some great stories. I never knew that they used to use hornet nest as paper for guns and I never heard that you had to take a hornets nest to a taxidermist to have them treated. Some things he talks about I already knew about, but some things I didn't. I guess it depends on your age if you know certain things. Like I've heard of putting tobacco on a bee string and you can bleach out your tea cups or tea pictures. You just wash them with dish washing liquid and rinse them out real good after they soak in bleach. My daddy was a mechanic. My mama and my Grandmama would wash his clothes in gas and washing powders to get the grease out of his clothes back in the 60s and 70s. My mama says know... it's a wonder we didn't blow the house up. 😮😂😂😂🤭

Worst day of work I ever experienced ... I covered what was then known as the NASCAR Busch Series for a major national racing newspaper. I talked to Adam Petty one morning in the media center at New Hampshire International Raceway ... and two hours later ... Adam had lost his life as the result of an accident during practice.
