Duck Call Room

2 жыл бұрын

Si and the boys hold nothing back on America's cultural and spiritual breakdown and the recent mass shootings in Buffalo and Uvalde. But first, Martin reveals his favorite sauces and the best gift he ever gave Brittany, and Stone shares his mouthwatering shrimp recipe. John-David admits his mom ate high-mercury seafood during her pregnancy and says it didn't affect him at all ... or so he thinks. And Martin and Si offer advice on the best way to give your significant other space.

When my boys were young I spanked one of them in a store for arguing with me about wanting something. A lady nearby felt the need to gripe at me about the spanking. She said, you need to realize you’re raising kids! I said, “no, I’m raising men, kids is just a phase we have to go through to get there!”
@barrygolden9823

As a boy I got many spankings. I deserved more than I got! I was disciplined, which I needed, but never abused. There is a difference between abuse and discipline. I agree, it all starts at home.!

We have always had mental illness in our world, without the shootings. I think our problem is a moral illness, not mental illness. I think Stone is right, much of the illness begins with 24/7 online behavior and specifically social media. Great podcast, guys!

Great point!! I feel it is both. I think mental illness is a product of moral illness, which both stemmed from an absence of God.

If a parent really cared for their kid, like they should, they need to take away the screens. Or have a limited time that the kids can spend on any one of their screens. Parents who allow their kids unlimited time on their screens are pathetic to the point of abuse, IMO. Take the damn screens away. Nothing but trouble. And parents walk around like it’s no big deal. It’s a huge deal. It’s disrespectful for a kid to have a screen in front of an adult. Take the stupid screens away. It’s ruining the kids and you parents are too scared to teach your kid respect.

You’re absolutely correct, Robert. Parents need to be parents, teens need to show responsibility and respect and children should be getting a swat on their butts every single time they do something naughty. Stop coddling a brat and discipline your children. If you can’t teach them, the cops will. Be proactive with caring for your kids, ‘cause right now the way they behave is unacceptable. I’ve always loved kids, but right now…….just barely. Kids are begging for boundaries and consequences.

I wish more people would wake up and see that our government is stealing our Freedoms little by little and piece by piece and leading us into the Marxist and Communist hands that our military Patriots fought and died for and here we are falling right into those evil hands. Our Patriots should be honored not let them to die in vain by accepting the very evil Communism that they fought against...

John David has the best question "Who are we raising our children to be?" I agree with Martin, we need to focus on the family dynamic....I've said for years, it starts at home! When I grew up in high school, everyone had guns in their truck/car/can in high school parking lots and NO ONE was shot! It is because our families taught us to love one another, even if we disagreed, we fought it out like men. Fists to fists.

Hello Guys...Uncle Si the people these days have No common sense. Their allowing electronics to raise children instead of taking the time to teach them and raise A decent human being.This was the Best Podcast out of all of you guys have ever done. When my daughter was in high school I was speaking with one of her teachers who knew the financial situation we were in and I was feeling guilty about both my husband and I working. And he said something very impressive to me...that it used to be a luxury for a wife to work but now its a necessity. Martin you're so right people are ready to give up and divorce when things get a little rough its like they treat marriage like going steady. Again Best Podcast...should be recorded and sold for distribution to every US citizen of the who,what,where,whys of life and living in America. and being an American

The worst school massacre in American history was gun free. It happened in 1927 when a person killed his wife and family, set his farm on fire, and then set off 500 pounds of explosives in one wing of an elementary school. The blast killed 38 children, 2 teachers and 4 others. The full information is available on the internet. When I was stationed in England they were having an amnesty to turn in knives because of the amount of people being killed with knives. Point being, if someone has evil intentions they will find a way. The only way to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun…and they don’t have to be a police officer.

You nailed it, Martin. IMO, the biggest mistake being made on children is lack of discipline. Parents are scared of their kids and they don’t teach their kids respect, responsibility and the right attitude. Kids are so confused, hence public meltdowns and horrible attitude…….which leads to crime. Parents, if you’re not going to reprimand you kids, don’t have them or send ‘em out for adoption. Why should others have to pick up your pieces ‘cause you’re an bad parent
