Good reporting bro. Quick correction on a few things: 1. Maphorisa = ma-pho-ree-sa, it's not the "f" kind of "ph". 2. Kabza = kh-bza 3. As important as Uncle Waffles is internationally, for the genre Kabza de Small, De Methuda, DJ Stokie and a few others actually elevated the game as they produced most of the hits. Uncle Waffles just happened to bring the sound to an international audience more than they did as she is a DJ. 4. It's called "amapiano" which means "the pianos" in isiZulu, it's because of the first wave was heavily reliant on piano. The log drum came on later. Adding a log drum does not automatically make a song amapiano as most people do which creates a washed down version of it. These are my takes and opinions, my word is not law. Keep up the good work bro. As a South African, I'm proud of this. 🇿🇦

I remember hearing the name Uncle Waffles. She didn’t look anything like an uncle. Watching her you can’t help but join in on the beats. She draws you in to the music.

I'm glad someone said it out loud. Morocco is one of her(Uncle Waffles) underrated tracks. Such a dark, hard hittin fire song! #AfricatotheWorld #Amapiano_Takeover

Yanoz short for Amapiano is definitely a vibe! We have this party called "Bamba Tuesday " at this club called Rock Steady in here Atlanta 🤗❤️🥰😍 it's curated by DJKash & DangerVybz making a whole night dedicated to Amapiano, in which i plan on going there tonight actually. Don't forget Daliwonga, Tyla, Tyler ICU as well. There are many more to name that are making waves for the genre.
