Sadly, this sounds like my ex-husband and I. We are recently divorced. In the beginning, I fell in love completely, even though it was so fast. His mother tried to stop me from marrying him even though she treated him like shit ( you were right about the pedestal thing ). My family saw red flags but kept quiet. They wanted me to be happy. I saw the beauty in him, the potential in him, and wanted life to be better for him. If I were able to give him the world, I would. As time went on, I saw what he truly was. At one point, I thought I was the problem. After the kids were born, things got worse. My brother died in 2021, and he wasn't there to support me like both of my sisters' husbands did. I was alone. January 2023, we separated, and July 2024 the divorce was finalized. I am happy it is over, and I can find me again.
