Really addicted to Uncle Lee, Ah Fatt & the Missus travelling youtube. Haha. Indeed Shirakawago is a must visit at least once in your lifetime. My DIY trip a couple of years back was in mid Dec so not much snow. The entire village covered in snow is really beautiful. We took public bus from Takayama very early and arrived before all the tour buses arrived so it was nice & quiet. Staying overnight during the yearly light up is very difficult to book as all accommodations are fully booked as soon as the dates of the light up are announced. And it is not cheap to stay overnight in the gassho shokuri houses. Would be a great experience i think.

Uncle Lee, you seem to know Japan so well. Can understand Japanese language also, not bad. Any recommendation where to stay in Osaka and Tokyo as me and family are going there this Spring, prefer AirBnb as we are a big group of 6

I have been to Japan numerous times and also had Japanese bosses in my previous jobs. They are good bosses to work for 😃. The last time I went to Osaka was June 2016 and I stayed in Airbnb. But that Airbnb is only good for 3 person. If you have 6 person, you may want to message the host and see if she has a bigger unit. I do see a bigger unit that she has listed that can fit 7 pax. The large unit that she listed is 👇 abnb.me/T2OJhmT36wb Don’t have recommendation for Tokyo as it was company corporate hotels that I stayed.. honestly I don’t find them to be good value for large group… I don’t need all the bells and whistles when I am traveling for leisure. But when I am traveling for business, the bill is picked up by company so I don’t really care about the prices as long as it’s a corporate listed hotel.

@@HLHOP701 better not to risk it… staying a night in Takayama is good and less tiring for you..and have another chance to eat the prized hida beef… very hard to get a table at the top BBQ restaurants in Takayama. After the Shirakawago tour, I bet you would be so tired when you return to Takayama and the only thing you would want is dinner and bed. 🤣

@@UncleLeeAdventures hi Yes we are staying for 2 nights in Takayama. Day 1 exploring the city and old town and eat hida beef. The next day to Shinkotaka ropeway it is a very amazing view😊 you did not go there. The day after we are checking out hotel. But day trip to Shiragawago first and afternoon back to Nagoya straight back to Osaka. We are only taking the bus straight to Shiragawago and Shinhotaka ropeway. Yours was day Tour package 😊
