As long as I have Angelina every day I don't think about yesterday! 🤗😊 Good comments.. I will have to check out your catalog of young talents, but with Angelina pouring out new songs I hardly have the time for it.. 😋 What ever I do she is in my ears. Crazy or what? 😅

Thanks for the wonderful reaction, Momo. It's incredible how Angelina, in the rereading of the songs she chooses, is always of a superlative musical sensitivity and richness, this is truly a wonderful and unique elaboration, full of passion and emotion. Her slow, scratched voice on this song makes the lyrics much more understandable and emotional. She always manages to fill words with meaning, the way she declines the simple word "yesterday", transforming it in a whole dictionary of expressions, is unreal. 💛 💜 ❤️

She changed the lyrics from "I am not half the man I used to be" to "I am not half the girl I used to me". Rather interesting. Made me believe she was singing about her too. She had me when she sang that note "... NOW it looks..." so beautiful. The more I listened, the more I love her cover. It's climbing fast in my top Angelina's list. Might even knock 'Stay' from its first place.

Thank you UM for a wonderful reaction and your comments to this Angelized beautiful song. Believe you are spot on in the "pin drop" moment this song possesses in the way she sings it. Couple other "pin drop" songs I can recall were Bohemian Rhapsody and Yellow Brick Road from AGT in front of thousands. Thanks for supporting the young barefoot Angel on your channel and really enjoy your reactions.

Thank you for another grand reaction to Angelina. You made some very valid observations about the growth of this young lady, and those entering their teens in particular. When I was that age (late 40s), the term "teenager" didn't exist, and we certainly didn't have the freedom that the current ones do. I am very thankful that the word has change as, generally, there is a much closer relationship between parents and children now. I found your take on Angelina's performance very interesting, and the view you put forward are certainly worthy of consideration. However, I disagree with you on two counts. Firstly, I don't think that Angelina is looking to an earlier part of her life, which would suggest she is dissatisfied with the present and regrets about growing up. Throughout every stage of her life, she has seemed completely comfortable with herself. In fact, her acceptance of herself as the person she is at any one time shows a level of maturity which many adults never reach. Secondly, the lyrics do not corroborate your assumption. They tell of a broken love affair and Angelina sings it so. In fact, there is so much regret in her voice that t is difficult to take on board that she hasn't suffered such a traumatic event in her life. Just keep the reactions to Angelina's performances coming regularly, and you will make a geriatric very happy :-)

if a singer doesn't personalize a song they shouldn't sing it. this song is about a broken heart .. her love left her and didn't say why .. so she's hiding in a supermarket cart. (She has a sense of humor for sure, our girl.) But it's is a melancholy song, like jazz .. and boy does she know how to do both .. jazz and melancholy! I have found the male reactors hear and get something different from this song than the women reactors .. at least so far .. and I've heard a lot of them. The women hear it as an emotional song, the men say she's chill .. relaxed .. one even said she was bored so she sang a song! Angelina is profoundly multi- faceted so she's doing many things at one time. She seems led first and foremost by the emotional content of the words .. the poetry .. but she has to be aware of so many things at once .. where the camera is .. what she can move and when (not much) .. remember all the changes she made during the rehearsals before they taped, the cramp in her leg, how many takes its taken (sometimes only one!) .. Anyway.. she's brilliant in my eyes and my ears and I believe you think so too. Sorry I went on so. .😆 See you next time!

A side note to Angelina's height is Angelina's deep voice. Where does it come from? How does she do some of the amazing things we hear from her voice? Note that Angelina has a long neck due to her height and may have a larger larynx (i.e., voice box) than the average woman. (1) Angelina is probably a contralto with the possibility of actually singing at a higher level. A contralto is what the lowest female singing voice is called. This vocal range is fairly rare. Typically the range falls between the F below middle C (F3 in scientific pitch notation) to the second F above middle C (F5), although, at the extremes, some voices can reach the D below middle C (D3) or the second B♭ above middle C (B♭5). Since Angelina has made so many covers of many types of songs, it may be possible to determine her effective singing range, or the range she is willing to comfortably sing within. This would require analyzing the notes she sang across the spectrum of songs she has sung and published. (2) So where does Angelina's beautiful voice come from? Let us go over how a voice is produced per a summary of tutorials provided by the National Center for Voice and Speech. The NCVS conducts research, educates vocologists, disseminates information about voice and speech, and provides referral services in order to help people around the world enjoy healthy and effective vocal communications. The NCVS has a nice tutorial on voice production based upon their book "Principles of Voice Production" which goes into scientific detail that they said should include knowledge of basic acoustics and some familiarity of college physics. (3) The human voice is classified into various types, based on pitch, timbre, and various other factors that influence our perception of someone's voice, or how that voice can be used. It appears that one critical aspect of voice production has to do with one's fundamental frequency (i.e., Fo). Baby cries have a Fo of around 500 Hz (roughly corresponding to the note B4). Child speech ranges from 250-400 Hz (notes B3 to G4). Adult females tend to speak at around 200 Hz on average (about G3), and adult males around 125 Hz (or, B2). (4) As one would probably assume, one's larynx is quite important to voice production. The larynx is the hollow muscular organ forming an air passage to the lungs and holding the vocal cords in humans and other mammals. It sits at the back of the throat, above the windpipe (trachea). The larynx is supported by rings of cartilage, which in men (and occasionally a woman) form the bump of the Adam's apple. The vocal cords are stretchy bands of tissue attached to the inside of the larynx. Air passing in and out of the lungs is pushed through these cords. Everyone's larynx grows during puberty, but a girl's larynx doesn't grow as much as a boy's does. In fact, a man's larynx grows roughly 40% larger (taller and in length) than a woman's. This larger larynx gives men deeper voices than woman. But there is a tad more involved than just the size of one's larynx. (5) Note that the 40% size difference of the larynx between men and women does not account for the roughly 60% difference in production of the Fo. So there must be something else. The key variable is the length of the part of the vocal folds within the larynx that is actually in vibration, which is called the effective vocal fold length. The difference here between men and women is about 60% and we have some indication of where the pitch difference comes from. (6) Along with pitch, another variable used to classify voices is their quality, or timbre. Timbre is related to the length of the vocal tract. Different vocalists have different vocal tract lengths. To a limited degree singers can control the tract length by raising or lowering the larynx. A longer tract results in a 'darker'-sounding voice, while shorter tracts will make the voice sound 'brighter'. Note that the length of the vocal tract is largely determined by nature. Some of us are born with necks that are swan-like, while others are quite short. (7) So, it appears that Angelina has been gifted with both a longer neck and a larger larynx than the average woman. She thus has lower pitch to be able to produce a lower Fo, plus has a longer vocal track to produce a 'darker'-sounding voice. Add to this the fantastic breath control and a wonderful sense of musicality, and one has a singing prodigy. We all are fortunate to be alive to witness such a rare combination that, in my opinion, is producing a new singing genius.
