Such an amazing video for a foody person such as myself.....this maybe one of my favorites!!! from presentation, to the cooking and to the eating of the dish itself!!! what a great experience it was to watch!!! Thank you so much!! It has inspired me to look for such a dish here in CT., U.S.A. i have been searching and have found a couple of highly rated restaurants that serve a Beef Tongue in a Hot Pot, hopefully that will suffice, or i may have to travel to visit maybe!!! hahahahaaa!!!!

I see a lot of criticism about the speed and the sound of their eating. I'd say they're a group of peasant friends from the northwest. The way they eat is such that Chinese table manners are more complicated than those in the West. From the moment I invite you to dinner, the etiquette has already begun! We can't ask a group of hardworking people to eat like aristocrats without making a sound. In China, to describe "eating gracefully like an aristocrat" is actually an insult.

Cow tongue is a very prized part, even in the USA they cost a lot. ^^ Its like a big piece of loin, pure muscle and very good flavor, but it works a lot, so it is tough but very good when you slow cook and serve with a thick gravy/sauce.

My mother used to tell me how her father was a butcher and that she grew up having to eat the pieces of meat no one else that came to the shop would buy making it sound like the worst child abuse a child could ever suffer.
