Very controversial lecture and oversimplified part for spotting the unconvential (spectral difference between K, Th and U), I think. Source rocks are typically rich in clay. I never found this rule until now, that says source rocks cannot contain clay. Also, I have a hard time imagining clean limestone, like the one you showed in the example, as a highly laminated rock... without particles of clay.
