It's common to see people getting that type of ideia because we all see everything in the viewers perspective, and most of us forget that in the characther perspective (Taiki in that case), Hina inviting him for a date was never an option, not only because she didn't make that clear (for him, for the viewer it is pretty obvious) but also because they never had that kind of relationship.
