'Uncovered' Investigation ~ Core 2001 (Remix) - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Time to bring it back to the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and get down to core of the investigation!
Investigation ~ Core 2001 has got to be one of the highlights of the Ace Attorney soundtracks and it never fails to get me into that feeling that the case is starting to come together and things are getting intense. It's always been a want of mine to tackle this theme for a remix and so I'm glad I finally did. I had a blast working on this one, especially since I honestly think this is some of my best music production work I've done!
I really like how the original track starts tense with the bassline but it still gives off a sense of un-grounded-ness as it dances around the minor pentatonic scale. And then the sweeping synth pads come in to add more of that floaty feeling until the percussion hits hard and the emotional chord progression enters. This particular chord sequence is actually quite common in the Ace Attorney series or at least in the original trilogy -- something I've discovered through transcribing tracks for these remixes. I really quite enjoy the progression so I thought I'd give it a highlight in the first drop with the bass guitar. Then of course, the track only grows from there, especially at the mid point which I had so much fun working in to the structure here.
Thanks everyone for the support. I've honestly been quite demotivated lately especially while I'm dealing with some personal difficulties irl (re: unemployment) but getting to put my mind into something like this for people to listen to really does help, and so I definitely appreciate it! The transition at 1:18 has to be my favourite part, I can’t resist oriental inspired music, plus it works so well to create a moment of calm compared to the electric tension of the rest of the remix!

the ace attorney remix king is back!!! 👑 man this one has so much style, and the production really pulls it together! i think it's so clever how u approached the structure, lots of variation all the time to keep the simple source melodies interesting. the breakdown section(s) with original melody lines were so good!!!!!!!!!! and then the section after with the crunchy bass and bleep bloops . . . like i said: variety! the final chorus is a banger!!! great job!!!!!!!!!!! 💞🙏✨️

while it's a good theme, i don't think it can possibly be played in AA1 due to how upbeat it is for an investigation core theme
