Are you looking for a hidden gem in Utah? If so, you might want to check out Blueberry Azurite Crystals!
Azurite is a natural blue colored mineral that forms along with copper and other things. This mineral is known for its beautiful blue color and striking crystal formation. This location near Moab, Utah is the best for finding the Blueberry variety! So many can be found that you have a limit to one container to fill up with the tour group. What a fun location to go!

Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: I'm so excited I'm having palpitations! I've been in that area 50+ years ago. So wonderful to see that area of land and vista again. Makes me feel young and vital when I get to ride along in your napsack!!! Thanks Crystal Hunter!!! And thanks Matrix...you mighty gem hunting dog!

hi, i know this may not be the same thing, but there are many mines that will ship gallon bags of natural or seeded dirt for rock hounding at home. I think this may help get that fix for you!

boy do i know how you feel! same here in a big way, the worse thing to get over is actually that i used to be so energetic , had to constantly be busy but adding not being able to go out rockhounding makes it so much worse. i swear i sometimes dream of someone carrying me out to a place like that so i could at least look! lol

Early 70's, I'm 10 years old and spending the summer with grandpa. He was a consulting geological surveyor working the southwest, including the Moab area. The exact place this video was taken, I was there 50 years ago. My gem, rock, and mineral collection was booming, and I gathered a shoebox of excellent specimens from there. Flash forward ten years, and I'm moving the collection. I pulled the box off the shelf, and it was empty. Just a teaspoon of black dust was all that was left. The point is that Azurite and Malachite (the patina on copper) is a copper carbonate and can sublimate. Should of been airtight storage in hindsight.

Thanks so much for sharing these with us. The large blueberry with the black hæmatite specks at 9:57 made me think of a model of good ol' planet Earth. Definitely my favorite of the day, though of course 14:48 onwards, the cluster is just so beautiful. That blue is just phenomenal.

Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: I've also been an avid aquarist fresh and salt water....always check for potential toxicity risk before adding rocks you've found into your tanks. As the rocks react with water some chemicals leach out that can kill fish and plants. Always check online or with a seasoned aquarist to be safe.
