Gosh, so the problem is, you have this “created meaning,” in your mind, and when you come to the end of it, to the end of yourself, because you realize *it all* means nothing, (like I’ve done), then you look at your miserable existence and think WHAT THE FREAK IS THE POINT OF THIS? And then, you start seeking God, to which He responds, “Well, [Kimberly] I’m so glad you finally asked,” ❤❤ I only listened to a few of Tim Kellers sermons, maybe ten or twenty, in a period of a week - it was like the food my soul craved. I needed the word so badly, and he explained and fed the word so well! …and then I found out He’d gone home to the Father… I’m sure Heaven was happy, but I cried and cried, almost more than I’ve cried for people I know! 😢 This man made such a difference in my life, and my faith, yet, I never even met him! And I will be eternally grateful. I cannot wait to meet him in Heaven! I pray his family is well! ❤🕊️

Same for me! After growing up in church, I’m finally learning how to be a Christian at 51 thanks to Timothy Keller’s preaching. I can only imagine what life would have been like had I stop trying to be God in my 30’s! I wish more preachers preached the actual Gospel. I don’t mind the “Gods got a blessing for you” messages, but Keller teaches foundational principles that are NEEDED before you try to claim any rights to blessings.

22:50 the most obvious thing in human history. I thought about it when I was a very young child. I'm floored that more people don't realize it very early in life. Love Keller and his sermons, btw.

Where your treasure is there your heart will be also, if you have your heart on what is perishable, when it perishes so does your heart, and this applies to all things pertaining to the world, all things pertaining to the flesh, all things pertaining to what is perishable, if you have your heart on what is eternal, even if all things Parish, you will have life. Because true life is spirit, and it is a living thing, not a mind thing, based on reason or logic, it is simply based on the fact, that God is Life, true life, because he is a living thing, a living being. This is why Christ said; the spirit is life the flesh counts for nothing.

@@milels6917 My dear friend I do not say this lightly or critically - but lovingly. - The Roman Catholic Church has always been known as the 'Whore of Babylon,' Babylon the Great. I asked my Catholic friend once to read Revelation 14-19 and then tell me what / who it was describing. He had never read these passages before (as many Catholics do not read the Bible) - but his reply was "it looks like the Catholic Church." The passages describe "a woman sitting upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities" (Revelation 18:4-5). This is what the Lord thinks of the RCC - but He always warns before destruction comes. Dear friends, please pray about this mater. You say the ordinary people in the faith "love the Lord." But the Lord says that "if we love Him we will obey His commandments."

@@grantbartley483 Dear Grant, I do not say this lightly or critically - but lovingly. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus" (Rev. 17:3-6). The Catholic Church has mercilessly persecuted the true Church for centuries. The colours of the Catholic Church are purple and scarlet (worn by the priests, cardinals and popes). Everything within this Church is decked with gold and precious stones, and there are precious stones and pearls upon his papal tiara and the popes and priests use a chalice of pure gold (also seen in Revelation 18:12-13, 16). Revelation 17:9 states: "And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth." Is not Rome a city on 7 hills? (Rev. 14:8; 16:19). Does not Peter (the first pope!) describe Rome as Babylon? 1 Peter 5:13 describes Rome as Babylon in the footnotes of the Catholic Bible. Revelation 18-19 goes on to say what will happen to the Woman, the RCC. She will be destroyed by God Almighty. But the Lord lovingly warns Catholics what they must do. "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities" (Revelation 18:4-5). This is what the Lord thinks of the RCC - but He always warns before destruction comes. Dear friends, please pray about this mater. It is said by Mil Els that the ordinary people in the faith "love the Lord." But the Lord says that "if we love Him we will obey His commandments."

You are a motivational uplifting preacher and from what i have heard just browsing through your sermons, you don't read much from the word of God. Spend more time revealing the word of God and His message and spend less time telling stories and jabbering away at stuff that is not edifying from a scriptural point of view. God said make disciples of people not educate them in history and philosophy and mumbo jumbo speeches for educational reasons. Stick to the WORD OF GOD and say less about all the other things. You very long winded to get to a point.

40:32 'The Logos is a person and a love relationship with him is the meaning in life.' That is cultish mumbo-jumbo. To 'uncover' the mysteries of the Universe it would seem obvious that we will have to slough off such dogma.
@kimrunic5874
@kimrunic5874 8 жыл бұрын
***** What are you saying is 'only my opinion'? The fact that I labelled his statement about 'the Logos' as cultish? Or that we need to leave this dogma, which has its origins in antiquity, behind in order to move on with our quest to understand the true nature of all that is? Yes they're opinions. Makes sense don't you think?
@kimrunic5874
@kimrunic5874 8 жыл бұрын
***** I don't necessarily have any 'claims'. I don't have to have claims to know that a statement such as ''The Logos is a person and a love relationship with him is the meaning in life.' could be (and frequently is) said by followers of someone like L.Ron Hubbard. And to suggest that such a statement goes anyway towards solving the mystery of what this condition we find ourselves in actually is, is absurd and you know it, of course. Submit if you want to, knock yourself out, I'm glad you get something out of it. But it doesn't answer anything.
@kimrunic5874
@kimrunic5874 8 жыл бұрын
***** Firstly, you don't need 'claims' to know right from wrong. There are billions of people in the world who don't make the sort of claims you're talking about who, guess what, know the difference. Also I would say the claim that the meaning of life is to be found by a having a conversation with a 'person' who is not actually present on this planet in a corporeal sense could reasonably be said to be, let's be charitable, far fetched (i know I know, it's a miracle) - and as for the point about people making value judgements without authority other than their own feelings, well excuse me, sorry to break it to you, but that is exactly true for Christians, Christianity and indeed all religions. I'd be interested to know what you take as authority, the holy text? The bearded one on high who invented giraffes and cancer? That's not authority, that's men from antiquity formulating ideas according to their own feelings. Nothing necessarily wrong with that, but that's what it is - and actually it has caused a load of grief and anxiety over the years. I'm not an evangelist for science particularly but at least it has embodied an attempt to achieve something much closer to genuine authority, in so far as any 'claim' you care to make must be able to be demonstrated as the truth, independently by another party, without bias or coercion, by your peers and equals according to certain criteria agreed on by all parties involved. We have made stunning headway in the last 200 years in uncovering some of the secrets of existence using these methods, exponentially more than the total of mans existence to date. We are starting to make alarming and exciting discoveries about the structure of existence and will make still more if we can only let go of ideas and suppositions that we have previously held. THAT'S why I say we have to slough off dogma and cultish ideas - they hold us back. It's not taking anything away from anybody - if anything the prospect is far more exciting than anything hitherto conceived. I reckon the Logos would be with me on that one.

Ben Jousan Many products of today are primarily used in ways unintended by their creators. Including Kleenex, created as make up removal, WD 40 created as water remover and Rogaine created to treat high blood pressure. If the purpose of life is to glorify God then by his own admission God has done a terrible job of implementation as most humans for 2000 years burn in hell as they lived and died with no knowledge of Jesus. Regardless Christianity having a meaning for humanity is meaningless without strong evidence for the veracity of the claims it makes.
