The Tanfield Railway Freight event in February was a captivating experience that showcased the region's railway heritage in all its glory. The highlight of the event was the National Coal Board liveried No 49, a powerful RSH 0-6-0ST steam locomotive that hauled mixed passenger and freight trains between Andrew's House and East Tanfield.
