Monet would be proud! I’m going to give this a try! Perhaps I will start with a smaller version and build from there! Water seems like a good landscape to start with! I like the peaceful quiet of watercolor painting. Monet referred to it as, “Colorful Silence.” I really like the sound of those two words! Thanks, Marianne🎨

I can’t believe it Harriet! I was thinking just yesterday that I’d love to see you paint some water lilies and here they are. Amazing! Before I started on my watercolor journey last year, I worked a lot in colored pencil. The shading technique you used on the pads is a staple in the colored pencil world, but it’s the first time I’ve seen it done in watercolor. I cannot wait to try it. I ordered your New Botanical book today on Amazon. Delivery is tomorrow. I’m so excited and looking forward to pouring over the pages, soaking up the knowledge, and getting out the watercolor supplies. Thanks for all the inspiration. Blessings to you!

Saving this! I was commissioned to paint a landscape which is a freshwater pond or lake or something surrounded by forest with a doc, two willows and beautiful lilies to the side of the doc. I am a loose painter but wanted to see how to approach the lilies so I came here. Love it!

Love this video! I am gonna try it tomorrow.🙂 Just wanted to share a little tip with you. If you draw your rough sketch with watercolor pencils, you don’t have to worry about the pencil lines! I usually use a color that is close to whatever I am going to paint. Hope it helps! God bless you!

I’m always wondering what’s going on with the water and paint when it’s zoomed in on the paper. Just an idea maybe you could add a smaller box in the corner that fixed on the mixing and water so we can see that part also. I got sucked into your channel and have been watching it all day. Your work is absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing it.
