If it's true that he never been there then it could be a house in brazzil for all he knows. But he confidently stated "That photo was taken upstairs" he must have a reason for being so sure that it's the same house. Perhaps he's more familiar with the upstairs than he's admitting, so familiar that he can recognise it just by looking at a photo of one corner in the kitchen. The process of elimination doesn't isn't plausible here, just because he never saw the place doesn't mean it's the upstairs. When I walk into a place I never been before I don't think "oh I must be in Epstine's girlfriend's upstairs of her home"
